I’d say Boris really needs another Covid success story and the best one in the pipeline is our phenomenally accurate LFT, produced in the U.K. (up North) by incorruptible companies that have been endlessly patient.

If this doesn’t happen, I think that Alistair Smith should also call a press conference and spill the beans about the £400billion to China scandal.

Session starting next will cover testing. It’s already clear that he’s a big fan of the Singapore/S.Korea approach to pandemics which depends heavily on testing. I’m sure that his recommendation for future preparedness will make it a central requirement. As Richob would say...

The whole picture is one of frightening incompetence and unpreparedness. Matt Han**** is as unfit for the job as we have long suspected. I suspect that he will be the fall guy. (Ooh, quick dagger for Nicola Sturgeon there!)

Given that the Gov has overwritten Innova’s own ‘professional use’ instructions to enable their test to be used at home, can somebody reassure me that anything produced by Innova in Wales would need to go through rigorous scrutiny at Porton Down before being released for home use?

Surely there has to be a cut-off point where a much superior test designed for AN use becomes the preference for home use and the justification for overriding Innova’s manufacturer’s instructions becomes unacceptable?
