RE: Avacta PR company one of the best in the World7 Jun 2021 14:02
Well done all. I sent the following to Paul.waugh@Huff post
Dear Mr Waugh,
https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/five-minute-covid-test-nightclubs-moonshot-plan_uk_602fee6fc5b67c32961d49aa
First of all, I wanted to congratulate you on the above excellent February article on Avacta. As a shareholder myself, I was very pleased to see this fine piece of investigative journalism on testing. So much Government expenditure is going into this effort - and the majority of it has been directed towards Innova, a US shell company which acts as a sales distribution arm for Xiamen Biotime Biotechnology Co. Ltd, China. Although the Innova contract ends this month, the total spent on their inferior Lateral Flow Tests stands at £4,011,000,000. In addition, contracts awarded to Air Charter Services to fly the tests in from China amount to £230,544,000. (Source: https://bidstats.uk/tenders/?q=lateral+flow+test)
Secondly, I wondered whether you had any plans to follow up on Avacta's progress, given the news today that they have received MHRA approval now and a CE mark for their test? https://www.lse.co.uk/rns/AVCT/mhra-confirms-registration-of-lateral-flow-test-yzf825wx0nwaj0n.html.
Personally, I find it sinister bordering on criminal that the so-called 'Sovereign test' is not out there and being used already. Instead of being made aware of a completely plausible alternative route out of lockdown (highly accurate release testing), young people are being strong-armed into getting vaccinated instead. How crass is it to be targeting dating websites to enable covid virtue signalling? Surely a recent STD test is more relevant, but no doubt the sexual health clinics are all closed at present.
Anyway, I do hope that you will follow up on Avacta's good news and hold the Government to account for its failure to be using reliable testing amongst the general population already, enabling holidays, greater trust in borders and less resentment of G7 diplomats visiting us without quarantine.
