I’ve recently bought a rowing machine. Spent 40 mins on it yesterday towards end of day’s trading and got back to my screen to discover Avacta down nearly 8% thanks to a tweet! Now I’ve learnt to exercise after the market closes.

Thanks Benx4, I’ve had a quick read. If this means that young kids are going to become millionaires sportspersons just by twiddling a knob on a console rather than getting real fresh air and exercise, it’s a very sad development.

I feel that this adds to the reasons to be confident in DM as a CEO. Not only is he a top notch geologist with infectious enthusiasm about this project, he is also mindful of his shareholders, communicating well and at exactly the right time. I also like the fact that he is cost-conscious on our behalf - hence using a mineral rig rather than other options which could have cost 100x the amount. He’s also alert to ESG issues and is keeping the local community onside. All-round someone who inspires confidence!

Given recent developments with Henry Slade refusing the jab and Newcastle TV presenter dying of blood clots after the AZ one, I think there will be much greater vaccine resistance amongst the under 30s (which is exactly the age group where infection is currently most prevalent). If they knew there was a completely accurate test waiting to be given the go ahead, what would the reaction be?

Joshwaa now I have the image in my head of the farmers protesting with their squeaky voices! In fact, every time the farmers are mentioned, I imagine squeaky voices. (Apologies for being so juvenile.)

I would have thought that the most accurate test in the world could be key to ensuring that the Tokyo Olympics go ahead. I hope that the Avacta sales team have been in touch.

I mean, who the hell pitches up to a care home, hospital, test centre or wherever with a nose full of frozen snot?

RB4 I can only assume that AVCT is still referring to PD’s use of frozen rather than fresh samples. PD have defended their methods whereas the FDA has signalled that frozen samples are not acceptable.

Avacta is pretty clear that the biggest risk to our becoming the sovereign test is Porton Down ‘not using the lateral flow test in the manner it was designed for’. Per annual report....

In order to participate in tender contracts offered by the UK Government, the AffiDX® SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Lateral Flow Test has to pass an evaluation process at the UK Government’s Porton Down facility. The first stage of the evaluation process does not use the lateral flow test in the manner that it was designed for and there is therefore uncertainty as to whether the test can pass the Porton Down evaluation process which could delay the ability to tender for government contracts. The Group is progressing the clinical validation and CE marking of the product so that sales channels (other than the UK Government) can be exploited regardless of any delays in obtaining UK Government approval or tenders.

I wonder if our most excellent press/MSM could still turn a blind eye if the sovereign test idea was overthrown in favour of one called Wuhan EasyDiagnosis?

DC was in charge of project Moonshot - I believe that I have previously posted my personal conspiracy theory that Porton Down obstructed Avacta’s progress for precisely this reason.
