It was 10:37 a.m. on July 1. Jenaro García was preparing for a meeting with Madrid’s mayor aimed at fostering Spain’s entrepreneurial spirit when a message popped up on his phone. A short seller in New York had just released a report saying that Let’s Gowex, the company García founded 15 years ago to offer Internet access via Wi-Fi hotspots, had overstated its revenue by almost tenfold in recent years. García denied the accusations and threatened legal action against the report’s author, Gotham City Research. He continued his usual routine, posting on Twitter, “Gooooood morning Madrid!!!! Perfect day for a jog.” Then he told his board that Gotham’s report was on target, according to a company filing.

Gowex shares fell 60 percent before trading was suspended on July 3. García resigned on July 5 and said on Twitter that he’d made a “confession” and would cooperate with investigators.

4. Shares are suspended because of fraud

Seriously?! Thats the most stupid comment I’ve heard today. It’s more likely that the market knows (thinks) these will get suspended this weekend.

Yeah that exit was “smart” looking at it now. The excuse of margin calls was bs.

This could also be suspended this weekend... we should be prepared for that as an option.

I’m now suspecting the details have been leaked. No way this is normal market behaviour. Could easily get suspended. So glad I bought that put option!

They are in a closed period for 2 months prior to results. So have been able to buy since the new year

They are wanting the weak hands out! And everybody to be at a loss BEFORE they drop the report. Only the brave will benefit. All leveraged longs will be wiped out.

I think that’s exactly what’s happening. You won’t catch the bottom so if you believe this is a bargain just take a position and come back next month.

Well if you plan to stick with it, just stop sh*tting yourself and ignore the daily fluctuations and wait for the report. If you can’t help it then just sell now. It will keep going down until they release news.

More or less confirms there were no insider/major share sales on Monday! Will probably have to wait till next week to see if anyone bought. If that’s the case then the share price fall might just be technicals due a clean break if support at £12 and the market now just trying to force NMC to react.

If it’s the main owners, or infact any large institution, then we will know by tomorrow or Monday via an RNS
