Someone here yesterday mentioned a slight dirth of messages here of late. And it's true and odd, because sometimes over the weekend this BB is full of odd lighthearted O/T stuff.

So, to redress the balance, here's some.

Over the years, there have been many posts here from people who are self-professed 'Noilbys' asking questions, which people with technical knowledge about the industry usually try to reply to, politely, in the hope of giving a bit of free education at the same time.

However your question shows you have utterly no understanding whatsoever of what Hurricane is doing, and would advise you to invest in something else instead. Like bitcoin.

Nor am I. It's only an opinion. There may be provision for a 'pull up' via the buoy of a new flowline, and maybe of a riser to export gas once the pipe is in place. I don't know, as I don't have diagrams of the buoy, nor the 'pull in' capabilities of the boat.

But it a lot further on up the road, anyway...

Absolutely. The phrase immediately used on announcement of the Spitit deal was 'debottlenecking' the FPSO. Thos does not necessarily mean that the FPSO itself represents a 'bottleneck' in terms of the existent production train and associated equipment installed. It's dealing with extra associated gas which is the big hangup if an extra well comes online. but even if a tie-in export gas pipeline is laid, I see no way its riser could be hooked up to the buoy while it's still latched into the turret. So a disconnect will have to be done with the boat getting out of the way for a while for the duration of the hookup.

If I understand the technology, that is. But I think I do.

However it's all two or three years hence, so no reason for lost sleep.

Absolutely. The Wick location is essentially 'sheltered' from the worst the North Sea can bring in wintertime. The only critical bit will be the right conditions for the tow and correct conditions for getting onto location and jacking-up. The same of course applies for jacking-down and getting afloat once the drilling is done, and the tow south to Colter. Once in position and jacked-up, the rig has no particular weather-related stuff to worry about other than occasional high winds that might restrict crane operations. But that applies to all rigs working N.Sea in winter, anyway.

On the subject of English people in France, I'm just home from the casino, marginally richer in pocket. But only marginally: I didn't enjoy a very exciting game. But I'm glad to see that while I was out, Ricfle didn't come and burgle my flat.

As an Englishman living in France, I'd like to thank you for your wishes, which are gratefully received. The Hundred Years War wasn't. In fact it hasn't ended. It's just that someone omitted to tell the people of this country that.

Ricfle, Wrt yr somewhat kleptomaniac post of 14:50. If you think there's more than a strictly nominal quantity of gold to be stolen from my pad, you must take me for a bigger idiot than I actually am. The 'hifi' as you quaintly call it is insured, though it might be better described as a moderately powerful pa system. And although in 'domestic mode' it feeds a pair of Bose 903's because the four 802's are a bit in-your-face and tend to rattle the windows. And I do not have a 'collection of manbags'. I have the one which is with me here at the casino, and another which sits unused in a cupboard. It was a gift from my ex, and if anyone wants to steal the thing, they're welcome to it. But first a burgler would have to get in undetected and without 'tripping' various nasty surpises in place, specifically installed to foil such criminels. So I'm not worried in that regard.

I feel sure that Bluewater and Hurricane must be highly relieved to learn that the way the Aoka Mizu FPSO is moving has met with your approval. No doubt they'll now be on the radio to the skipper to see if he can't make more speed, as you seem to think that's possible.

Not without asking a few technical questions from time to time. But otherwise, why not? It's his 'train set' we're investing in. And his knowledge (as CEO) as how to run it.

What on earth are you on about? 'Short shares' are 'leased', not bought. Plus generally they don't even belong to the broker who's leasing them out.

Personally I suspect that all the current shorting actions might be a precursor, hinting to great things to come in a few months' time. And a massive 'tree-shake' getting rid of a few dead branches.

A heck of a lot of people must have been shaken out of the tree over the last ten days. But so what? More space for the others remaining.

Sure, personally missed a good trading opportunity and making a few thousand out of it. But didn't recognise it as such, so nobody to blame but myself. But tough sh*te, can't win 'em all.

That's my intention as well. Though it all depends on timings. because the way things are, I'll have to be down just south of Perpignan the following week. And much as I love the road, 900 km to Rotterdam followed by all the way down south sounds a bit heavy.

Nevertheless Rotterdam has four casinos where a poker-game could be had, so it might be fun.

There are two other people who I know would like to be there. Not sure about actually 'visiting the yard', but will certainly have 'long glass' on my camera.

You don't have the dreaded 'red rosette', so we can't PM about this. But let's try to exchange plans (however codified) on this site, nearer to the time...
