The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Adrianuk,
"Might be worth giving Stuart a call."
I've just done that.
Seemingly not the only one.
Plus also assorted emails, apparently.
Now 'onto the case', and very interested, trying to set uo an 'investigative team' for tomorrow. Aware of Hurricane, talked a bit of the tech stuff, horrified to hear about how private shareholders were unconsulted about the 'restructuring plan', so has promised to get onto it asap.
Slift,
"To me, it just looks like you're all begging for your own investment decisions."
In that case, I'd advise you to run for cover or get your head down below the berm.
Because my take on things is that there are some very angry people around, and that they're not going to take this scam lightly.
Defend it (with your friend mcadder) as much as you wish, but others think otherwise, and are acting upon it.
Ricardo2019.
"The BoD aren't interested in making you money. They aren't aligned to your interests."
Maybe. I understand that, you silly person. However, the duty of the BoD (of whatever company it may be, O&G or frozen pizza) is to ensure the success and moneymaking capability of the company they are supposed to be 'in charge of', and thus, that may incite further shareholder interest, thereby 'growing' the said company, and increasing overall wealth for all concerned.
This BoD is acting in entirely the opposite way.
mcadder,
"Up s**t creek without a paddle comes to mind"
Maybe. Meet you there. Because that's where you'll be as well.
Slift,
"Lol, again, in accordance to Companies Act 2006, there is no requirement for consultation with shareholders in this matter,"
Lol to you to.
I am hoping to maybe receive a reply from ChanceryJudgesListing@Justice.gov.uk to whom I sent the message...
Even if I don't, no probs. They're probably busy people. Unlike yerself with your juvenile 'Lol' garbage.
mcadder,
"So any alternative financing plans proposed?? Nil, zero, zilch. The silence is deafening."
Exactly, my friend. The BoD has done exactly NOTHING. Their posturing has been nothing but that. You can't make money without spending money.
mcadder,
Wrt your 14:24 post.
I hate to be boring with my references to poker. But if I've had a really bad night, yes, I prefer to get back on the road with an empty wallet than one with just five euros left.
This is now a real fight to the death. Or maybe not. Could be a chance to kickstart the thing back into life, but the only way will be showing up the bunch of shysters who've been pouring water into our tanks.
jh2704,
"it started with Trice who didnt know truth from fiction..."
Meanwhile well 6 continues producing 10500 bopd, and somehow 7z is occasionally being 'put on line for testing'. Nah. Fractured Basement ? Useless. No oil there.
oldbutnowisa,
Thanks for the link !
So another email out the door. It's all we can do.
Some people might laugh, but this is what I sent:
"Dear Sir / Madam,
I write to you as a shareholder in Hurricane Energy plc, regarding a hearing due to be held, referenced in the header to this post. Unfortunately, due to lack of information, I do not have a 'case reference number', and as seemingly the hearing will be held 'virtually', cannot be sure of any venue where others could attend in order to actively participate should they wish to.
Equally, I'm unaware of who will preside as judge for this hearing, and in absolutely no way would I wish to be considered to be thought to be trying to influence his or her thinking on the matter. However I do hope that the person appointed is reasonably aware of matters involving the oil and gas industry, particularly on the UK Continental Shelf, the potential 'stategic importance' that might hold for the nation, and is not simply versed in corporate financial law.
It is possible that it has already been brought to your attention that a number of current shareholders in Hurricane Energy plc are very unhappy that such a hearing has been convened, without any consultation with they themselves. This has already been brought to the attention of the Financial Conduct Authority, and we can only hope that that body is pursuing the matter with all haste, and may be able to advise the judge or his / her staff on their findings regarding the matter accordingly, prior to the hearing.
Yours Faithfully,
(abdoubleuk) (Though of course, that wasn't how it was signed) "
Adrianuk,
Typically, I've said one thing, then done just the opposite. So have just sent a lengthy email to the editorial team of the Shetland Times. Without going into lengthy boring technical detail (for once !) but explaining why they should start investigating this scam urgently.
We'll see what happens.
Ricardo2019,
" Trust me."
OK, let's hear why.
"I've been in SXX, FRR, UKOG, ANGS "
Yeah, of course everyone will trust you !
Moron.
Adrianuk,
"Adoubleuk, I received an email from Shetland news. Please can you explain the situation in your own words and all those still invested. "
I'm a bit confused. I've just checked 'Shetland News', but don't see any articles pertaining to the current 'Hurricane situation'.
However, instead, are you suggesting I write to them as an individual ? Yes, this I will willingly do, though not necessarily this afternoon.
But sure, that's a media-outlet that must be appraised of the ongoing scam.
Adrianuk,
"Shame shareholders can't talk between themselves without the disrespectful twats"
Agreed, but all part of the territory unfortunately. There's always the 'filter button', but even better is one's own mental 'filter button' which can be used to ignore the idiots !
Right now the best indicator is to recognise how they're all fighting a rearguard action...
fandg2
"A lot riding on the 8 well being successful then"
WHAT well P8 ? Do you really believe the shower in charge have any intention of drilling a further well ?
Also (see posts passim), through internationally recognised well nomenclature standards, a sidetrack of well 7z CANNOT be named 'Well P8'. Maybe '7z2' or something like that. This is a huge giveaway that the BoD have no intention of pushing anything forward operationally, nor being proactive in any way whatsoever. And forget about that water-injection well nonsense, also.
If anyone with time on their hands and the inclination to contact the company (not that they'll get a straight response), a further question might be worth asking. What has happened to the 'long lead equipment' ordered (and no doubt paid for, at least in part) destined for the Lincoln tie-in ? Where is it being stored ? Or has it just been sold off on the quiet ?
By the way, some people continue questioning my 'oilfield credentials' here. Sleepless, in the middle of the night, following an unsuccessful online poker game, I was wandering around my flat and came across an old thing I haven't looked at for a while, quite a weighty object. A 'Western-style' belt-buckle, limited edition, dating from the time, commemorating the 'Ocean Ranger' which went down off Newfoundland in 1982. Only reason I have it is that I happened to be working for ODECO at the time. Never worn the thing, out of superstition about such things.
Might now just polish it up and put it on ebay, though. Might fetch a couple of hundred euros.
Nigwit,
"The oil is running out."
Yeah, and the sky is falling down. Go tell it to the Marines.
Diver69,
"Has anyone contacted them? They were the 1st company to log the massive find, wonder what they think of the latest crooked CPR"
Interesting ! By coincidence I've been recently contacting a few people I know in Schlumberger for their thoughts. Unfortunately none directly connected with the particular project. Plus members of the 'Blue Army' can become very tight-lipped at times, even if they're friends.
Some of their interpretations have intrigued me though, even if I can't quote them verbatim here. But there appears to be a consensus opinion emerging. Being that some early interpretations of logging results were over-optimistic. Plus nobody I've talked to can understand how meaningful MDT logs can be attempted in FB. It was a huge waste of money and time.
But on the other hand, some people are sceptical about various pessimistic 'conclusions' now being drawn, based on production data.
Overall conclusion being, the best way to really find out 'what's going on' would be to drill a dirt-cheap (everything's relative of course) cheap an' nasty straight hole right between the two wells' horizontal sections, preferably underbalance, log it, and then P&A the thing with lightweight cement. Just to gather some proper data.
Getting OGA to sanction that could be tricky, though.
Slift,
"Under SPE guidelines and methodology of how 2P reserves are calculated, you cannot deny this."
Oh yes I fu**in can.
For a few years I was involved with SPE, because I was stupid enough to think that having those letters after my name might mean something. But then came to my senses, realising that I was wasting my money, and didn't really want to be associated with something calling itself the ' Society of Petroleum Engineers' anyway. Prefererred to just getting on with the job of drilling oilwells.
There are three things which totally screwed-up the oilpatch. 'O'-rings, wireline, and engineers.
I wonder if Slift has a binded , affected member..
Slift,
"The company has had a negative equity ever since the downgrade in oil resources. "
But thereby lies the rub.
I don't trust that latest CPR further than I could throw it.
Slift,
"Sure call me an idiot, but we'll see who the real idiot is as this restructure progresses."
You still don't get it, do you?
There is an obvious 'movement' amongst existing shareholders in an attempt to ensure that this 'restructuring' will not be allowed.
