The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with London Stock Exchange Group's Chris Mayo has just been released. Listen here.
If you comment on all the AT trades it would be appreciated. Also if any of you are TA fundi's there was someone saying that this would dip to about 125 (dexter, about 4 pages back but he was onky plugging away for about 2 days and then left). I really like this company and have enough for one more decent top up and am confident they will hit their 17k per day targets at the end of the year. However the charts are beyond my ken. Any thoughts much appreciated. Regards, AdJ
I reposted the below on another bb for some help and they replied..."Sounds like an MM's 'bot at work. Just to keep trades moving..sometimes drops sp a tad to sneakily pick up pi's Auto stoplosses. Then raises it a tad to tempt anyone hovering over the buy button on any drop". and then they followed with this: "Reckon that's def a long term keeper right there though. Strong buy rating from 4 brokers. GL. The answer was appreciated. However, the only problem I have is that the margins are not big enough to trigger stop losses. I have seen that done on other shares and they really dip the SP down 10% or more in a flash and back up to the point you can barely see it on an intraday chart. Personally I think this is about volatility and that then lengthens the candlestick and show the share as more erratic and more risky which also affects the SMA's and EPA's? ..... Just approaching really thin ice here so I think I'll stop. I had hoped for this to take off faster that it has but I think its a great share and a company that is really got their act together; invested money wisely on infrastructure; plugged into main pipeline; drills completed in 20 days; v low lift costs per barrel; hitting targets consistently. Their 17,000 bbl/day by the end of the year seems very achievable. Would be good to get some more investors opinions.
Is there no more than two people that own these shares that are interested in what is going on here? The share is being systematically being first bought in blocks of small sales and then resold in blocks, all on AT. However, the amounts are not significant and the percentage shift is minimal. So it is not traders pushing it up and down for 5% every time. It is someone who is gaining from the irratic intraday volitility of the share. Who gains here? Is this being set up for a 'play' in the near future? Which way? How does this play out? It is reasonable to assume that this share will not move northwards while this is being played like this? I would appreciate some insight on this. Regards, AdJ;
If you look at the bid and ask price here for any length of time, there are no actual buys or sells but the prices are continually changing. I'm not sure who is benefiting from this? It does not seem to be traders in and out on the dips and troughs. Is it the MM's jockeying to get the best bid and ask price? but if noone is actually buying most of the time what is the point? I would appreciate somone with L2 and greater knowledge to say what is going on here. I know that erratic prices will influence charts for forward prices i.e. erratic intra-day highs and lows but this is somewhat 'out of my ken' Regards, AdJ
RNS Half Year Results: Revenue increased by 40.8% to £20.3 million (H1 2011: £14.4 million) Operating profit of £127,637 (H1 2011 : £8,169) Profit after tax of £44,716(H1 2011: loss after tax of £61,128).
I would be interested to know what price you got into Genel at? I have looked at it several times but with such a high price per share I would appreciate knowing what range is a good 'in'. Along with companies like XEL, EXI, BLVN etc. I think it is a safer company to be in. Regards, AdJ p.s. really hope the market proves your short term predictions here incorrect. ATB
... Did no one think the RNS this afternoon was significant? UBS Securities LLC ("UBS") is the prime broker in relation to 6,000,000 shares in the issuer; Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited ("Credit Suisse") is the prime broker in relation to 8,366,846 shares Interactive Broker LLC is a nominee shareholder of 3,420,574 shares in the issuer. So if Schroders plc still have their 13% then thats alot of shares out of action. As this RNS was issued about 2.30 pm it does not look to have had a big effect on the SP but all good.
Greetings. V much agree. The company seem to have invested heavily on both reducing production costs and value-adding with their in house facilities and pipeline hook-up. The 17k bblpd seems a very achievable target. Holding the 140 for the weekend would make my planned day at the beach all the sweeter. Pdog, greetings to you. All good.
Was really hoping that today woukd be the day when I got the lowest buy of the day. My 141p now beaten by a penny. That will teach me to buy in the morning with a spread of 5'ish. %. Would really like to see this finish @ about 142 or 143p. Regards, AdJ
....from interim results for H1 2012 During the reporting period, our revenue increased 58% from US$88.4 million to US$140.0 million. Mainly as a result of rising production and improved efficiency, our netback (which we define as revenue less Mineral Extraction Tax, Export Duty and Transneft charges) rose 55% from US$28.7 million to US$44.5 million.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, said: "This £21million investment into Dagenham is fantastic news providing new employment opportunities. TEG is also the first to start building at our new industrial park, which I have committed £10million to transform from brownfield land into an attractive space for businesses. We want the London Sustainable Industries Park to become a magnet for energy and environmental enterprises to support hundreds of new jobs. (Mr. R. thanks for yours of Sunday a.m. on here, only just seen it)
A sea of blue! A big buy @ 81p and then the next 4 or 5 buys (all o trades) back down to 80p? The 79. something p trade @ 11.30 was my bed and ISA Sell so therefore I would presume that the below 80p trade @ about 12 o clock is also a sell. There maybe an order being filled which might show up after hours but with so few shares in circulation I doubt it. However, not great at judging these things do would appreciate others' opinions. p.s. also topped up @ 10.52am (the smaller one).
