Q The company is still issuing the disclosure RNS, does this insinuate that the merger is not completely dead out of the water?

A. We have made it clear that we do not intend to increase our offer. However, we remain subject to the principles of the Takeover Code (LINK) and the series of Rules contain therein. The Code will be required to continue until long stop date (1 March 2023) passes or the Capricorn transaction with NewMed completes.

Looks to me they are not giving up on it just yet, but what May swing it?

The announcement of a base dividend was indeed conditional on completion of the recommended merger with Capricorn.

As discussed previously, we have not provided any deadline with regards to securing a strategic partner in Kenya. Progressing commercialisation of gas in Ghana remains one of our key performance indicators this year, as outlined in our Annual Report.

We still intend to update the market about further progress the company has made before the end of the year.
