Looks like they are backing down on the demands, Tullow Gold Fields Ltd. and Kosmos Energy Ltd have joined a list of companies disputing back tax bills by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

Gold Fields and Kosmos join Tullow Oil Plc and MTN Group Limited who have been told they owe back taxes. They all dispute the GRA's claims but Gold Fields and Kosmos have declined to give financial details.

“Ghana is clearly facing fiscal and economic challenges at the moment,” Gold Fields spokesman Sven Lunsche said in response to Bloomberg.

I was on about the note under the 2023 production guidance.

“NB - Jubilee excludes 19 bcf (gross) of gas sold under the Interim Gas Sales Agreement.”

Perhaps the Gas revenue will be used against the Tax settlement that’s in dispute.

I’ll drop IR an email to see whether the revenue from the gas sales is incorporated into the FCF for the year 2023, which I believe is not currently included.

Anyone else notice the additional 7kboepd (net to Tullow) from the Jubilee field gas agreement is not included in the guidance figures of 58 - 64 KBOPD.

Also noticed the following:-

Exploration on Jubilee encounted additional resources for future development.

First oil from Jubilee south east will be a significant milestone, brining previously undeveloped reserves to production.

This paragraph was a bit odd, maybe a Possible BOND restructuring in the pipeline. “Tullow regularly reviews options for optimising it’s capital structure and May seek to retire or purchase outstanding debt, through cash payments or exchange in the open market or otherwise”

Well Rahul used to be an investment banker at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, overseeing M&A in the oil sector.

Should see a nice run up to 8th March results, when the accounts will be out in the domain, with gearing below the 1.5x BOND Requirement, who knows could see a nice dividend announcement???
