TenBag, you are correct in what you say but some LTH maybe could not afford to average down, unfortunate but fact.

Farm out done, accelerated drilling of block XX in 2026 & 2027 resulting in 20 producing wells (guess average well production yourself) 2027/2028 we start selling our oil to the refinery and we miss out the middle man (Petro China) so we do not have trucking costs etc, we will get around $9 per barrel more from the refinery.

Yes i believe 40p is achievable in 2028, i have often said 30p post refinery, but 40p could be on the cards.

For what its worth i think real news on the farm out may not be as far off as some think, my view only.

I33, i agree, the Indians would be my choice, ref DQE "possibly" not doing there best for MATAD, hence why as asked if a technically competant engineer would be onsite during the workovers and why i asked if MATAD might consider buying their own rig.

Either way with a farmout i think we can be assured of best possible work when it comes to future wells being drilled.

Delay as in many expected H2 results much earlier, certainly i did, for info i do not see the "delay" as a negative point but i do see it as a positive.

I could be wrong but having given a huge amount of thought to the delay in releasing H2 figures the only reason i can come up with is that the well is delivering a few barrels more oil with every day of pumping, reason for this is our oil is waxy, it flows easier as the well heats up and the waxy crystals dissolve and become less viscous, this is called a “cold well start”. Every day it pumps oil the well temperature increases (upto a point) meaning the oil production increases day on day so we have yet to reach a stabilised production rate, once the well produces for several days with no increase in production that is our stabilised production rate.

This is similar reason our oil is kept onsite in heated tanks during winter and why the 530km pipeline will have 5 heating/pumping stations along its route in an effort to make the waxy oil less viscous.

You can think of less viscous oil as oil that flows more freely.

TenBag, Sakhalin crude has a similar 44.7 degrees API but your point is still very valid. Lets face it, if Mongolian crude is available they will use it, the whole idea is to cut oil imports whether that is crude/diesel/petrol/jet fuel etc

Importing oil from Russia kind of defeats Mongolias dream of energy independence and their Vision 2050.

Gadgie, if its crude oil storage this will also be a huge boost, to get production from Heron /Gazelle upto the quantity Mongolia need they really must start drilling when the season starts next year, having storage in Mongolia would mean we were selling our oil much sooner to Mongolia rather than our Chinese "friends"
