On some metrics Burberry isn’t cheap even now. £10 will be the price

Never owned Burberry shares, has never appealed to me as particularly the strongest brand in its field.

I thought the same about NWG but nibbled at 175p

I will nibble Burberry in the next couple weeks , if it settles at this price , but ideally would buy at 1100.

Trading update was for me neutral. Which is fine for me price may drift into divi reinvestment territory.

But I suspect it will tick upwards as inflation continues to drop.

How do you scale the top of the shard building ? Wouldn’t you slide down the side ? How would you stand on the pointy top end?

Personally I always viewed the shard as an oversized Judas cradle. Maybe we can seat mandy on top of it.

Just wish I’d bought more Tw at 89p or anything up to 120. I did overall put £14k in the 3 at low prices before during and after Liz truss debacle , but wish I’d put in more.

It’s down at this price because while the capex is high and there are already heavy cost savings under way, it would only take a few geopolitical issues or a bigger recession to see the dividend suspended again.

We better hope they get the fttp done on time and no issues between now and then.

Buying Bt shares at 121p with a target of 150p is fine, but in the short term there are other shares which could perform better than that as a rising tide lifts all ships (all ftse 100 stocks)

The PE of Bt is around 9 and the EPS for the next 3 years is expected to be roughly flat.

Buying shares is basically a reinvesting divi strategy while Time is on our side.

As Fleccy says , it’s s capex and debt reduction strategy which will increase divis and the SP being lifted. Not earnings and profit growth. If you want a quicker turn around you should invest elsewhere.

And if you’re mandy, you should have been better informed before buying at the top when the FTTP roll out was always going to be a ball and chain for 7-10 years.

The share price was around £4.50/5 when the FTTC programme was in full swing, with loads of EU and Uk Gov dosh sloshing around the company to deliver it .

There’s less dosh altho tax deduction scheme in play, and an FTTP programme in full swing which is more expensive and time consuming to deliver.

But when the programme is at the back end of its huge delivery cycle, around 2026 onwards, guess what will happen?
