Fleccy half my stocks are in Bt at an average of 125p . I didn’t say sell everything I said if your Bt holding is over 60% trim it this year and hold cash when it’s likely there will be a market wide drawn down of 10-20%.

I will continue holding 50% of my stocks at this low average. I believe in Bt group and it’s safer than tech , which could swing hard and does every year more than once . Right now tech swung upwards and the trend is upwards for the next few years. If you don’t know how to time things then this year is an inflection point of selling before the next leg up.

My opinion is stocks will rise across the board on average between now and July. There will be a 10-20 correction then a rise beyond that correction into autumn.

So if you are overweight bt or Uk stocks look to trim them in the next two months , hold cash then buy on the inevitable draw down in July August or September and then buy tech names like msft amd asml avgo and google , which will then go on to outperform bt for the next decade.

If you don’t think tech and ai will outperform our value names the next ten years you’re a fool , even if you can time it better than I’m saying, overall it will happen.

Keep in mind at the outset I said I’m keeping 50% of my stocks in Bt .

Overall including my funds Bt equates to 27%.

Bt will hit 250p this year with EOY results which will meet guidance.

If you hold too much sell at 235p and hold cash and buy tech on a ca dip later this year.

This rise within 6 months . I’ll be selling the lot when it does and into tech . There will be an inflection point later this year at the 125-150p mark.

During that period there will be an opportunity to sell and rotate into tech which will have a dip , as they do each year.

I’ll rotate into Asml amd Msft or Avgo

‘People’ aren’t selling. It’s institutional and algorithmic selling and buying.

Hence why I said buy on a dip , eg 200-243p hold it and don’t reinvest dividends or watch the sp moves daily. This is something you buy and hold for years and trim 10% up or keep diverting dividends. Eventually this will start declining to the 200p level .

People saying sell at 300p.. it might happen but the more realistic strategy is buy, take Divis as cash and trim on spikes. Divert to better forward looking names,

Lgen is a stock you keep 15% of your portfolio and no more and reduce on spikes into tech.

The trick with a stock like this is buying a large holding on a dip then never reinvesting or buying more. Just recoup your cash through dividends and then look to trim on spikes after. It’s a foundational holding you use to trim and rotate out of into better names later.

I’ve got 5600 shares . I haven’t reinvested since it was nearer 200. I used my Divis and all other Uk divis on amd Asml msft Google visa in the past, this year all my dividends will go in semis and hypers if they pull back.

I won’t sell any of my Uk shares but won’t be reinvesting

All my bp and rio shares were shifted to Msft and amd earlier this month.

If Vodafone rises nearer 140 , eg 130, I will be looking to sell my full position and moving to amd if it drops back to 200-230 range.

I will keep BT group but with a continued divi reallocation and will trim Bt in the 300-400p range , within the next few years

Or do you think money is all going to kospi and Nikkei surrounded by Chinese influence? Is that where westerners are going to flood their money , risk free? Where is this USA reality check heading

Fleccy when do you think us equities will get a reality check and explain also how interlinked UK equities you and I hold will not be affected or will benefit from a US reality check.

Fleccy please explain what a US reality check means : does it mean correction?

If you mean US correction can you explain how that correction would be isolated from UK equities and when precisely you think this US to UK correction will occur resulting in a major rerating of FTSE CAC DAX

Fleccy, I don’t have an America first strategy. You sound like you have a uk agenda.

I have a CAGR strategy .

Luckily for me amd Asml Google all rose in share price after I bought in 2025.

I held uk equities bp , nwg, barc, bp until this year where sold all into msft amd to complement my Asml Google and amd positions.

I still own bt , vod, aviva, lgen Abdn and phoenix (now standard life).

Accumulating £15,000 Divis,

I won’t be selling those but i won’t reinvest my Divis either .

It will all go into tech.

Bidboy loves the fact that Bt will rerate later this year in a bear market . We will be swimming in Divis while his average will get him a 5% yield finally

They are all legacy companies

Before war the ftse rose as American money sought investment into ‘HALO’ heavy assets low obsolescence.

American institutions sought a place to put money to work that wouldn’t be affected by AI. Japan EU and UK were seen as those legacy indexes.

When war broke out not much changed as no one believed trump could sustain a war as he hasn’t sustained anything else.

When trump announced a deal was close with Iran money left Uk (seen as most defensive index) first and the most impacted if war became protracted. There currently is no upside in the ftse as high oil impacts us for a year now even if war ends and even more so if it doesn’t.

The likelihood is no agreement will be made between enemies Iran and us/israel, and the strait will slowly open over 6 months without agreed terms.

During that time the ftse will stagnate, and US growth stocks , hyperscalers in the mag 7 now at low valuations will start to creep back up , unaffected by war. The software stocks will also see a temporary rebound.

The fact bt hasn’t plunged further and shows strength relative to the last 5 years shows where this will end up when capex reduction gains traction and the macro environment settles . Likely it will outperform less defensive stocks in the ftse 100 index. Finally.

Yes — this site shows Alliance News did publish a piece stating that BT Group’s price target was raised to 330p, but this was not a Goldman Sachs upgrade. It came from a different broker, and some sites have mistakenly attributed it to Goldman.

There is no actual evidence Goldman have increased their target on Bt group to 330p. Not their analysts, just a separate website.

I sold the remainder of my bp shares at 538.7p and I’ve put that money in Microsoft.

I have a large reserve of cash that I will not be investing in bp , Microsoft or bt group.

There are no good options left at the moment.
