The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
As a quick calculation, 1.6 tonnes of co2 emissions from producing 1 tonne of ammonia nitrate. They are currently doing 200,000 tonnes a year. That’s 320,000 tonnes of co2. At $60 per tonne, that’s big money for block. Plus all the other waste from the other chemicals they do.
Happy to be corrected but that is what google says!
Either way, this is fantastic news for Block
Not posted in here for a while.
I agree that this has been a hard few years of holding. I am as disappointed as anyone with the share price.
However; progress has been made. We have producing wells, a recent successful sidetrack and cash in the bank.
I am not sure the same can be said for many other junior oil and gas companies. Just look at IOG today.
All we can hope is that we can get project 3 up and running as this has always been a gas play.
Take a look at the recent rise in the bank of Georgia. If ever you needed proof that something was happening in country (block related or not) it is there to see. The GEL has been stable and considering what is going on nearby, that's impressive on behalf of Georgia. Have a look at who the BoG biggest shareholder is and what they say about energy in country.
Sarah, can you please give it a rest. I have no idea of your motives. If it is as you say 'to warn' people, you have done this - in abundance. Surely there is no need to post multiple times with the same message. Trust me when I say we hear you. We have heard you for months. Considering it's the same names that post on here, I truly have no idea why you need to be so vocal. As I have said, we understand your thoughts.
I think we are all grown up enough to not need our hand holding for our investments. Block may well go to zero and if it does, then a lot of people will be extremely disappointed. However you may as well post your sentiment on every chat board on AIM as the same could happen to any stock.
I am holding and hoping!
As an aside, do we also know when the satellite imagery in Georgia was updated? If the rig was moved in July, has there been an updated satellite image?
In the U.K. my housing development is still at least a year behind on maps.
Been watching this from the sidelines today.
Are we sure that the co ordinates we have been looking at are the correct well?
Where did this information come from? I cannot find any reference to this on blocks website.
It is true that tiblisi said rig in Sartichala. I can’t find reference to this in any of blocks official comms.
Alll that is mentioned is the Patardzeuli field. This as the previous poster correctly said, is east of Sartichala.
Not saying anyone is right or wrong, just wondering where the information has come from?
I have been sat watching this bulletin board and read constant bashing of Block and PH. We all are extremely frustrated with recent news; silence on sidetracks and frankly a poor show with multiple RNS yesterday.
Everyone here has put their hard earned money into Block, you have invested (I hope) based on research and not just on the word of a CEO. I would argue virtually every share listed on AIM has a CEO that over promises and under delivers.
If we take a step back from our hatred of PH and think about block as an investment case.
We have a producing well, we have 5 other potential well sites, we are sat in a proven geologically oil and gas rich area.
Georgia is very important geopolitically and this has only become more apparent given recent events with Russia.
FRR are spending millions on litigation trying to secure assets. Why on earth would they do this if there was nothing to fight over?
To me this now hinges on non dilutive financing. Who and when this will be provided, we don't know.
The Georgian government are somehow involved and clearly are keen for energy independence. With the closure of nordstream 1, this I something of great concern now.
We can carry on saying the same old thing from the same old posters, where has this got us, what are you going to change? Nothing is the answer, however if you want the share price to go up then we need people to buy in. Anyone researching block and coming here would not be investing. This is counter productive. I think everyone is frustrated but repeating it over and over each day is not getting us anywhere.
Whilst I appreciate all the negative sentiment on this board, most of which is justified, I do think we are turning a corner. The company is now cash generating and obviously looking at JV’s of some sort.
Georgia is strategically placed and we know it has assets, let’s hope block are unlocking them
A very encouraging podcast.

I hear your frustration. I think everyone has felt that over the years.
We are not going to change what happens by arguing on here. If anything shouldn’t we be enticing new block investors! Surely that will get the price moving in the right direction. Then sell when you want and don’t look back.
Hello All,
I have been invested in block for over 2 years and seen the share price up and down. Watched on this board but never posted. Firstly thank you for everyone’s insight and to the knowledgeable regular posters.
I feel we are coming to a very important juncture, things seem to be happening behind the scenes. The recent tweets suggest this. I know things have been promised before. However this time maybe it’s different.
Block are producing, many AIM companies are hyped up before ever putting a drill in the ground.
The Kura basin is geologically proven to have large reserves and is an area of great interest to the larger players.
I’m excited by block in the near term. It is not without risk. Paul needs to deliver, but maybe we will get an earth shattering RNS one of these days. We can only hope!
Every share has its crew of de tampers and block is no different. These tend to be the same people. But o see regular share bashers as a good thing. They obviously want in cheaper!
I’m not a Chartist it would claim to understand price movement, but the recent stability around 2p is a good sign.
In conclusion I think we are invested at the right time and good to luck to everyone here.
