I wonder whether Scancell were happy to agree to it due to their funding position at the time of their early discussions. They were in a poor position with a bombed out Share Price, limited capital and a need for funding to keep the business running. I'm tempted to believe that Scancell would have been happy to take almost what they could get. We were warned that the sums would be relatively small. Perhaps a nudge from a cash rich suitor might have tipped the balance? I'm not sure that our CEO would have been turning money away at the initial stages. The injections from Redmile change things substantially. Encouraging Data will enhance things even more. I think some figures will be very helpful to Scancell. The sooner we get some the better. That is what we need the cash for.
Again, pure conjecture, just running a little with your comments.

We could say anything that's prompted Redmile to act.
What actually matters is that Scancell make the most of the two year window of opportunity they now have. Looking back to 2012 it seems the company was to be put up for sale within a year. Ok the time horizon is potentially longer now (2 years) but since noone outside of the two companies can really know what happened, with a known timescale and the best chance of proving the science what more can we ask? The problem with trying to second guess motives, ideas or what Redmile know, can lead to unrealistic timescales being put into place, and reading the history of Scancell this has happened time and time again.
It's now up to the BOD to make the most of what they have, a gold plated Rolls Royce backer who have put the money where it's needed.
We have to sit back and wait, perhaps for 23 months. we should know by then. :-)

It doesn't really matter what anyone thinks now. Redmile hold all the cards and can fold Scancell almost at will. Why would they do that? They have an investment that they want to succeed. Maybe they do know something that the majority do not know, but what they must think is that somewhere one platform or project or all are investable. So in my opinion, for what it's worth, they will be demanding Data, and soon. Seems pretty simple to me.

I have an idea why they didn't do it before, BUT if you think about it, Redmile turn up and invest at 5p. That says to the world Redmile like Scancell. The Share price increases. The bulk of the Raise is then done at 15p, not 5p.
Is that magic or is it clever?

I think that the NXC post reposted here the other day holds the answer..
Redmile, through the CLNs hold the key to Scancell's IP whilst obtaining an attractive return (3%) on the funds injected through that Coupon on said notes. They have nailed Scancell up for two years.
That two years seems to be critical for Scancell. It looks like Data production is now a prerequisite for Scancell to succeed , with conversion of the CLNs being the price for failure.
Scancell is now funded and in the best position it could be.
The BOD must capitalise on this facility, and soon.

It seems to me that if a banned posters posts are being reproduced here from another BB should not the person posting those posts from the banned poster also be banned? That seems to be logical.

LL , I hadn't realised you were talking about a company. I imagine if any company was sufficiently concerned about a 20 to 30% fall in the Sterling exchange rate against a currency where there was to be expenditure wouldn't it be simpler to hedge by buying currency forward or maybe a derivative product? A not unusual course of action for companies in global markets to follow and buying or selling currency forward is a basic financial management tool.

Ruck Rover, my point was simply that the pure Sterling capital gain should it happen from the share price would outweigh any consideration of the 20 or 30% fall of Sterling against any oversaes currency. Obviously any non Sterling earnings from Scancell would boost the Sterling revenue figures by movement in the conversion rate. I was saying that I couldn't see the benefit of moving from Scancell (Sterling) to another currency when the currency gain (if it were to be the case) was only 20 to 30%. As there is no revenue as yet to Scancell I'm not too sure that I think it is relevent to the simple comparison. I think we agree really. :-)

I don't think that would be a consideration for a Scancell investor but maybe some people see it differently, in which case I suppose it would be a direct view of the share rather than a currency one given that Scancell Operates in a UK pound environment.

Hi LL what does "Offshoring Funds mean"?

It does seem strange that there are so many posts here about censership or control of what is written here about various opinions. Because I posted in what seem now to be contentious threads several of my early posts were deleted because the whole thread was removed. It's a shame that all opinions can't be left here rather than those from a select few. If that is the case what is the answer?

Chelsea7 so the words Strong Buy in your post yesterday were yours and not the Website's? If that's the case i understand, but Buy and Strong Buy are different recommendations when you read Broker reviews.
