It doesn't really matter in the long run guys - there's always going to be volatility in the morning's, I never really even look at the SP until at least after the first hour has passed.

Lots of positivity on Goliath and Havieron, with our updated Scallywag plan to follow on shortly I would imagine.

I watched it yesterday - there was a link to it on Newcrest's Twitter feed - you could see Sandeep's eyes light up and his body language was a complete giveaway when he started to talk about Havieron.

The big point for me was his comment about the surrounding breccia starting to show continuity - I take that as code for it's pretty much all linked up and if the breccia at depth is more cemented than crackle then things could start to get very interesting, remember Sandeep has access to all that "truscan" data that he spoke about earlier in the video - what he said was that it pretty much provided real time assays at the drill-bit. So even when we get the results next week we are still going to be 10-12 weeks behind where Newcrest are at the moment.

Also - it's clearly visible on the satellite image this morning. You can see the difference in the activity around the camp site in the compare with the last available image on the 20th April. The drill site was only just a clearance then as well - you can quite clearly see exactly where the drilling is taking place now.

@Petejh - I did my own calculations based on the Hannam table a while back. I came to smaller figures than you using the actual amounts indicated than will be produced during the lifetime of the mine. I've taken the Au & Cu figures and multiplied them by the years at each production level - shown in my Excel table attached.

I get just over 15Moz of gold and 639,000 tonnes of copper.

Hannam's have put the following caveat in their research note -

"While we acknowledge this projection is subject to a high degree of uncertainty, we believe Newcrest’s ongoing aggressive drilling campaign over the coming years should begin to deliver the scale of resource upgrades required to support the economics of a block cave operation."

Definitely 100% owned RIO ground - all the Antipa / RIO JV'd ground is further North. Any ground that Antipa had in the Telfer vicinity has been JV'd with NCM in the Wilkie JV agreement.

RIO also own the ground directly to the South of Scallywag as well.

Righto folks - I can now see the prepared pads that you are talking about and it's about to get even more interesting in the Paterson South because I'm pretty sure that is on the RIO Tinto ground to the North of Scallywag. They received EIS funds towards a drilling campaign at the "budjiedowns" target and that looks right about the spot.

Oooh la la - nothing like a bit of "corporate tensions" to keep things interesting.

I see that Newcrest have advertised for a new position on the 18th April.

So all the posturing and arguing will make no difference to the relentless pace that NCM are driving this project forward at - I like Shaun an really exciting to see the next set of Havieron results next week.

The latest hole was 270m from the previous one but I wouldn't describe it as a step-out hole, it was 270m, but following the same NW trend as the orebody.

Seems to be that the first one has hit and this one is now moving up along the NW trend to check the continuity of the ovoid at depth.

I know reading through some of the posts last week that Bamps confused some people with his second ovoid measuring 800 x 500.

I've done a couple of graphics to try convey what he meant. I think it's pretty much self-explanatory but when you look at the extremities of the breccias on both the different images and then enclose them in a new oval - the dimensions are roughly 800m x 500m.

Of course this all needs to be proven with the drill bit but if the breccias at depth prove to be cemented as opposed to crackle and the dimensions prove anywhere near correct then watch out - especially as TimberTrader says we are still open at depth.

@Quepensa - I've measured from the previous drill position to where we saw the prepared pad on the last clear satellite image - it's roughly 270m so it's a pretty decent step-out.

They will probably use bigger step-outs now and just use wedge holes at depth as they have been doing on the main ore-body.

Lots of progress over Havieron also looking at planet.com, there has been a lot of excavations around the box-cut area and also they seem to have started excavating the area where the evaporation ponds are going to be located.

More significantly they have started drilling on the second prepared pad to the NE of the sand-dune - I'm assuming this means the first one has been successful and warrants beginning on this newer step-out.

@AM90 - That looks pretty convincing to me TBF mate. They are definitely on the ground up there - IMO they have been for a while since BR spotted that original blob. Fantastic news - just need to get the Scallywag campaign underway now and we will have a full set - just as the gold bull is about to gallop off into the distance.

Why the 2 PME RNS's this afternoon anyone? Usually see them when things are going mental and there is an issue in the auctions.
Today seems to be relatively quiet trading - something going on in the background perhaps??

Goldman Sachs has upgraded NCM from neutral to buy based on it's "major project growth pipeline".

It's values the projects at US$5.9 billion or A$10.30/share to NCM.

@Khrysos - nothing specific that I know of but from Zoros list you can clearly see how much is to come and remember the GH tweet from the 24th March.
