Agree with both of you but worth mentioning that even if we get a duster that still might not delineate the field completely as reported in the Sprott note

I know Newcrest dropped a fair bit yesterday but gained it all back and then some last night - up nearly 7.3% overnight - pretty good performance for a "Major".

They are up AUD$15 or nearly 70% YTD - amazing performance really - with the way the gold price is going and if RIO are really considering an offer then they need to get their finger out asap.

HAT - I think people were just interpreting the reaction from some of the media and commentators yesterday especially the article in The Australian. As news said if you google "Winu fails to live up to Rio*s expectations" you get the link to the page with the following snippet of the article -

That's what I thought - also forgot to mention of you look at the Regional Targets image on the GGP site it's in the same depth to basement area as Hav as well.

I'll do some digging later tonight on the other areas but I don't recall seeing anything posted.

Tiburn- have a look at this post from Hotcopper which compares the aero-mag PRE survey with an earlier one from Artemis which has an image of Havieron on it. The GGP survey is 2D where the ARV one is 3D but look at the colour and shape similarities between Hav and one at the bottom of the GGP image - spooky.

It will be interesting to see what RIO unearth at the Budgiedown prospect which is located between Havieron and the Paterson Range East.
According to a post by Salpetie, RIO have secured an EIS grant to part fund exploration drilling there.

I can't find any info anywhere to see if this drilling has started yet or when they would be likely to report but there was a tweet a couple of weeks ago that intimated that RIO were probably drilling both here and at the prospect to the south of Havieron.

Tiburn - nice calculations which show what is eminently possible - I have my own spreadsheet running which is slightly less optimistic than yours but in the same ballpark.

I presume that GH will be attending the Diggers & Dealers forum next week - I know we had tweets from him for the last couple of years about it - remember these couple from last year which was not long after the first Hav drill results - I can't imagine that he won't be there this year following the great results form the Newcrest drilling.

Almost everyone we met at Diggers has
heard of recent success at Havieron - 121m at
2.93g/t gold and 0.23% copper - good news

As has been mentioned Newcrest have a presentation next Monday by their exploration manager at the Diggers & Dealers mining forum - That would perhaps be an opportune time .
Failing that Newcrest report their Full Year Financial Results on the 16th August - The CEO normally hosts a webcast so again that may be a good time to report any new results.

Yes I gathered from the recent presentations that Newcrest have got the block caving technique down to a fine art - RIO to, before all the grief they are now having in PNG with their big copper mine.

It will be interesting to see how RIO get on drilling the Budgiedown prospect. I remember reading somewhere on Hotcopper I think that because it is partly funded by an EIS grant, the reporting criteria is much stricter than they would have had say over their WINU prospect.
They will probably have to update the market quickly rather than sitting on it.
