You're a busy man Timid lol - I agree about waiting for the next release in January before we get too carried away - it's just an exercise of trying to interpretate the sequence that the drill pads are appearing in. As you say we only have access to information that is in the public domain - but the fact NCM have a lot more data and are showing no signs of slowing down (in fact the are still accelerating the program) gives me a lot of confidence.
I think I jumped the gun earlier guys - after having some discussions it would appear that the main camp is further out to the E-NE of the drilling area. That area I thought was the camp may be a site compound or something along those lines.
Interesting thing is - there were historical holes in that area which I guess were in the Easterly direction but why have they started drilling in that area now. Could it be because they have uncovered something interesting from the new SW-NE orientation drilling? It would be nice if they were near vertical holes down to 1400-1500m deep.
Morning all. There doesn't appear to be too much new drilling activity on today's image - there does seem to be a lot of activity around where we think the camp area is though. Perhaps they are getting ready to pull the troops out for the Christmas break.
That's probably going to be it now until the New Year as far as updates go - Lets hope they have a nice break and are back ready to crack on in early January.
I don't know if it is at Havieron or not volvic. It's definitely a DDH1 rig and it's an RC drill - Newcrest are using RC to drill the pre-collars and then diamond core for the remainder of the hole so there's every chance it could be at Hav. Interesting to see the set-up working 24/7 anyway.
schlemiel - I'm no expert but I think that 100m at a time is reasonably aggressive. The in-fill drilling may be at 25m centres so every 100m further out increases the infill drilling substantially in both directions.
As long as we keep seeing the step-outs in the satellite images then happy days - there might not be any new holes tomorrow though as if the holes are very deep then they may take longer than 5 days to complete and move on.
Agreed 10 sounds like a nice round number to me - but risehall is probably right. It will all depend on the overall size of the footprint once the edges of the orebody are determined. I would imagine that the in-fill will need to be on quite a tight spacing if the geology is as complex as they keep on telling us. The step-outs at 100m are quite aggressive now so I guess they will keep on doing that until the edge is found - lets hope we see a few more tomorrow.
Hi Griz, I don't think they put a number of rigs on it anywhere but good that they've confirmed it's increasing. Makes sense when you look at the infrastructure they are putting into the area.
"Our Havieron drilling returns with Greatland Gold PLC (GGP) are out today with high grade results. Drilling is set to increase over the first half of FY2020."
Drilling set to increase - how many rigs do we think then guys???
Hi JC, I've got no industry experience but I would think it's just loads of infill drilling to "firm" up the resource coupled with the office based interpretation to enable mine planning, etc. Just guessing though - Paddy
Owlo - I think I read in one of the Newcrest reports or it may even have been in Sandeep's Q&A session on Red Chris that they base all their investment decisions on $1,200/oz so that's even better.
It references an article from December 2018 and comments that it will be updated soon and he has a geologist with good ideas on paterson range projects to help with the content on the next article. Should be worth a read when it comes out.
Nice one guys. If the Primorus tweet was anything to go by I think Sprott may be more aware then they are letting on - remember they were the first ones to release a broker note last January.
Sieveco - at present we still own 100% of it. But after stage 2 NCM will get 40%. When they complete stage 3 their share goes to 60% and after stage 4 it goes to 70%. They then have an option to buy another 5% at fair market value.
All the details of the farm-in are in this release
