I think you'll find that Timid said Havieron was LOWER grade not low grade which it is when compared to Fruta Del Norta.
If RIO were to make a takeover bid for NCM there is no way they would shut down Telfer. I would think given their substantial presence in the area that keeping Telfer open would be one of the big factor in their decision to make an offer. I wouldn't necessarily see a takeover as being a bad thing but having said that I'm more than happy if we carry on with NCM in the current arrangement.

schlemiel - I believe that we are north of 5Moz now, not sure if we are 15m+ like tom_the_bomb says but I would be very happy if that were to be the case.

I heard GH say in the Proactive interview that they were down in Melbourne with NCM last week and they were all over the whole region. We need to get a good few holes into Scallywag as soon as possible in the New Year.

Hi Jerry - I think you are right when it comes to Havieron - NCM are nailed on there as far as I'm concerned. I'm not so sure about the rest of the Paterson tenements.
Remember RIO already has the tenements to the North-West and South of us and both RIO & GGP have applied for the next tenement to the South of that one and it's being contested at the moment.
Also the MMI results for copper from Scallywag were significantly higher that the copper results from Havieron and if the drilling proves that out then I think RIO may come knocking.

HAT (before he got banned) was of the opinion that RIO were probably in the reckoning for Havieron also and that's the reason that GGP got such a good farm-in deal when compared to other recent farm-in/JV's in the region.

There was some talk early on this year where an analyst from Credit Suisse was making a case for RIO to launch a take-over bid for NCM so there's a lot that could happen in the next 6-12 months.

End of January will tell us a lot and then on to May/June for the initial resource estimate - if the report from Telbap on ADVFN (which says NCM are 40% into the stage 2 budget already) is right then by summer they will be eating into the stage 3 budget in a big way especially if they up the rig count again in the New Year.

It was said yesterday by one of the attendees that GGP would have access to the Havieron field camp whilst drilling at Scallywag.

They might have an opportunity to start earlier in the New Year of that was the case - the sooner the better as far as I'm concerned.

Our payments cleared this morning so I've tucked away another 28K shares in the SIPPs this morning - it won't make me rich but every little helps.

Hopefully there might be something useful from GH's meetings with Jonathan Guy today.

Yes - from the Jorc table in the Newcrest release.

"Further work is planned to evaluate exploration opportunities that extend the known mineralisation. Initial drilling
conducted by Newcrest has confirmed higher grade mineralisation, broadened mineralised extents defined by prior
drilling and extended the depth of observed mineralisation of the Havieron prospect. The results of drilling to date
indicate the limits of mineralisation have been closed off to the east, and south, and remain open to the north, and at
depth"

I guess the takeaway there is "the results of drilling to date" - as CB says and the Sprott report in January also stated

"The Telfer analogy is encouraging for Havieron for another reason; the highly variable grades, a result of structural complexity, mean that we should not expect every hole to hit, and that some of the unsuccessful stepouts at Havieron are simply misses and not in fact delineating the edges of mineralization. "

They will probably concentrate on the most productive areas for now but I would think they will be re-visiting all extremities at some point later next year.

I agree Timid - if the drills are still in mineralisation @ 1400m then there is no way they are not going down another 100,200 metres if they are still hitting good grades.
Do you think that we won't get any more assays now until the quarterly report at the end of January?

As regards Scallywag - in previous years GGP didn't usually start drilling until March time but if they now have the support of the Havieron field camp which is only 5Km away then perhaps they can persuade DDH1 to begin drilling earlier in the New Year.
Hopefully we will get a drill program and schedule for Scallywag between now and then to keep the interest bubbling along.

Can I add my thanks & gratitude to everyone on here & ADVFN for their fantastic information from todays AGM and can I assure Dimvestor that regardless of whether I'm retired or not I will 100% be attending the meeting next year.

Keep on accumulating over the next few months if any funds available - it's going to be EPIC.

Do you think we will get any more results before the end of January - The next quarterly is due on the 30th Jan. That's over 8 weeks away. With 18 holes in progress and another couple of weeks or so before the Christmas break then there should be a big old chunk of results to issue.

Also Newcrest are already 40% into stage 2 spend - WOW.
They will be well into the stage 3 $25M early next year and could be increasing the rig count to 9 - this is definitely rocket-fuelled now.

I'm just looking at the "back of fag packet" calculations from Telbap's post -

if you do the calcs using those dimensions then it does indeed come out @ 14Moz and that's just assuming 1g/t overall grade.
