If they do decide to go straight to block-cave (which I doubt - it sounds like they will do selective top-down mining first) then they would drop down the side of the ore-body in stages, allowing them access to the ore-body to drill and places charges, markers, etc as they go.

Christophe - that is definitely a possibility, but it seems a lot of holes in a very wide spread area and again it seems to be too early back in April to be doing sterilisation holes. They are still looking for the edges of the system IMHO.

I don't know exactly the details of how exploration declines work but I assume when they get down to the 400-420m level there will be some sort of cave or platform excavated. From here they will be able to drill directly into the basement rocks without having to go through the 400m of overburden every time.

They definitely have an RC rig on site. They use the RC rig to drill through the Permian cover rocks and then they transition to the diamond rig for the good stuff.

If you look at Appendix 1 in the report in the JORC section of the GGP website you can see a box called - drilling techniques.

"Permian Paterson Formation cover sequence was drilled using mud rotary drilling. Depths of cover typically
observed to approximately 420 m vertically below surface. Steel casing was emplaced to secure the pre-collar.
Diamond drilling was advanced from the base of the cover sequence with PQ3, HQ3 and NQ2 diameter coring
configuration.
Diamond core from inclined drill holes are oriented on 3m and 6m runs using an electronic core orientation tool
(Reflex ACTIII). At the end of each run, the bottom of hole position is marked by the driller, which is later
transferred to the whole drill core run length with a bottom of hole reference line."

Yes HAD066 is almost in the identical drill collar location as HAD029 - I measure about 3 metres between the 2 sets of co-ordinates so in reality they have used the same prepared drill-pad and just changed the direction of the rig.

Sorry if it was my post that confused the issue.

The holes that we saw appear in the SW appeared really quickly and over a very short period for the amount of activity that we observed. I was wondering if they just did a series of quite shallow RC holes to allow them to get the survey equipment underground and get a better picture (Callum's model) of what was in that area?
If they didn't pull any cores up and didn't assay any material then there would be nothing for them to report.

I might be completely wrong but what do you guys think??

Looks like UBS are going more bullish on NCM as they research Havieron more deeply.

UBS is of the view that the results from Havieron increase the likelihood it will be mined, which could change the economics of Telfer.
The broker suggests the potential is not well understood and not priced in, but this could change over the next 12 months as a maiden resource is declared.

I'll admit I'm not a charting expert but I must be looking at a different one to you guys because since the end of January (apart from the one big drop because of the COVID panic) this has done nothing but go up. We've had a couple of red days here and there and some sideways consolidation but it's generally been in an uptrend and long may that continue.
