I wish they would get on with a buyback while the SP is still in the fifties but personally speaking I would hope they prioritise the "progressive" dividend.

As a LLOYDS investor my biggest concern is that I know hold an average price per share of 44p. I would like to think it is still facing its major period growth even now at 54p.
Telling me "all that should concern me" is extremely patronising. I think you are significantly richer and younger than me, judging by your holiday allusions, but this board is about Lloyds not about personal status. Your primary motive appears to be attacking one member of this forum and I would prefer you contributed in a more constructive way. It's worth being clear about why you are here as that encourages trust, instead of tit for tat trading of insults.

i just see the staff benefit shares as operating costs, guessing this isn't just lloyds practice and they will continue doing this whether they have buy backs or not.
Whether it's a good or a bad use of profits has often been debated and those on other side are relatively consistent in their views. I see them as a "nice to have" but after they have paid a realistic dividend, not before or as an alternative.
Today looks like the first sp dip in quite a long run.

Based on my historical experiences so far, I think that having someone else in charge of at least 40% of my savings is a good and necessary thing.

yep nice one, taking profit is the important bit. I averaged down a big loss and now i have a small profit and ridiculously large percentage of my savings in LLOYDS shares.
Safer than some of my other stocks though. I am 60% FTSE 100 shares, 40% ex UK funds, don't hold cash.

It's not always clearly mapped but the fight to maintain the right of individual freedom of expression continues throughout history. It doesn't matter to me what might be offered by concession unless it recognises the fundamental collective responsibility to address inequality; which compound over an individuals lifetime, just like our LLOY dividends behave in our savings accounts.
