I mentioned last week that there was more action in ITV shares and Weds and Thurs again saw significant volume since the stock hit 77p a few weeks back after its run up from 58p.
We didn’t get a RNS from GS with regards to a further reduction in their ‘holding’ as we have seen since 1st September 2020 and in the last few weeks we have witnessed GS holdings in ITV go from 21.29% (per RNS 27/08/20) down to 11.82% (per RNS 19/10/20), that is a reduction in their holdings of 9.47% or 381,206,251 ITV shares.
Since that last Friday in August a couple of months back when we saw that huge uncrossing trade in the daily total volume of 286m and then subsequent volumes of 102m (01/09), 75m (04/09) and 124m (18/09) respectively, over 1.6bn shares have been traded in ITV in less than two months !
Now, we are led to believe that Liberty via GS, still have a 9.9% ‘interest’ in ITV or 398,515,511 shares and I have searched for recent large buyers of ITV shares since 27th August 2020 and nothing comes up that warrants a 3% Holding disclosure RNS.
On this basis, I believe that GS and their cronies (JP Morgan, Citibank etc. they all work together !) are now effectively holding over 50% of ITV PLC (ITV has 4,025,409,194 shares in issue).
I mentioned a few weeks back that I thought a takeover of ITV will only happen once the market had helped itself to over 50% of ITV shares so as to prevent any counter bidder or hostile bid being successful, I think we’re there !!!
All these banks have ways of hiding their holdings as I have said on here previously and don’t give a damn about trade reporting just search ‘largest US banking fines’ and you can read as much as you like on there.
This week we may see the market try its smash and grab tactics again to force out the last of the weak holders and I will leave some buy orders again with limits at 69p, 68p and 67p.
And for the record here is an extract from the latest IT report and accounts with regards to ‘substantial shareholders of ITV’. Note the word ‘INDIRECT’ …………
