Mobily. Bought in originally at 35p then bought some for a very reluctant wife at 27p. She cashed in at 59p and I offloaded some at 72p. Only got 12000 left now and will probably keep as a long term investment now. When your portfolio includes bem, bmr, sun and vog, and you've retired, it's time for a little rebalancing exercise
Continued... Those of us old enough to remember Hong Kong flu back in the 60s will know that possibly as many as 90000 people died and the economy just carried on. And the way that the daily statistics have been massaged and presented makes it almost impossible for Joe Bloggs to get an accurate picture. Indeed, we are not told that people died of Corona virus, but that they died having tested positive for it. So in conclusion, whilst I don't subscribe to some the the more fantastical conspiracy theories, I am sceptical that our interests have not been best served and that we will never know the full truth.
Each to their own opinion regarding covid. I personally prefer to ster a middle line. From early on it was evident that whilst this virus is quite virulent in its ambitions, the vast majority, if infected, will suffer relatively mild or no symptoms. It was also evident that the very elderly and those with underlying conditions were much more at risk and the daily and weekly mortality rates have confirmed this. I was clear myself from the word go that we should put a protective ring around care homes and the vulnerable and that the rest of us should carry on as near as normal but with some social changes and facial covering. Politicians relied far too much on a small group of so called experts some of whom were possessing in the wind and others who may have had very different perspectives from ordinary working people. In my mind we have almost destroyed our economy at a time when Brexit is about to be finalised. Also many fundamental mistakes have been made which have baffled we ordination mortals. Let's also not forget the peccadillos of some senior scientists and politicians.
Suzy, we also need to bear in mind that if we do buy in the market, there are fees involved, and, if like Eric, we don't buy, our % of the company pie reduces.
Fellow. Can't disagree with you about Bird's influence but Borrelli as chairman and CEO was equally culpable in my opinion. He's hardly a shrinking violet is he?
Hi Eric Can't help thinking the Covid is just an excuse not to have to put too much pressure on the Swedes. From the RNS ""A recent increase in COVID-19 cases in the region and continuing movement restrictions mean, at this time, it is impossible to commit to the drilling programme at Kallak with any certainty." It doesn't actually say they have been told not to drill. I am in JLP and whilst underground mining has been hit by Covid, our tailings operations have continued almost unabated in S. Africa and continuously in Zambia. Can't imagine that's any less risky than drilling a few holes in the ground. Just my thoughts. Cheers 3card
Do you think it might help the decision process if we signed an agreement with the Sami to use their reindeer to haul carts of iron ore to the surface? Can't get much greener than that.
Completely agree connorben. Why should Kurt be allowed a safety clause not available to the rest of us, most of whom are probably losing money and whose only chance of recovering the loss is if the mine application is successful. It seems to me that he is concerned the permit won't be granted and he would lose out, despite being the holder of over 2 million shares, most of which were gained at a considerable discount to current prices. Your point about the company needing the money now is spot on and shows that maybe self interest takes precedence.
Glad you added (majority owned). See this from company's own accounts. "Eneo is a semi-public company with 51% of its capital held by Actis group, 44% by the State of Cameroon and 5% by its employees." Even in a public company on the London Stock Exchange, a 44% stake is not ideal in terms of balance, but in a one party African " dictatorship" you cannot refer to Eneo as a normal private company. It will do as it's 44% stakeholder bids.
You don't get it. It doesn't matter whether it's true or not. If you fight Eneo, you fight the Cameroon government. And guess what? You lose. May as well get out now while you're only 15% down.
2015 - I can't help thinking that the sp is being deliberately maintained below 4p, maybe so someone in the know can build a cheap stake. This company has changed beyond recognition to the last time we held over 4p.
RE: More of a Visionary CEO required13 Jul 2020 19:29
Brighty. Hopefully the itv vision isn't solely dependent on one person, even if it is the CEO. One might hope that the rest of the board occasionally chip in their twopenn'th on future directions.
