We really need to see emissions back on and quickly. It's more than just the financial flow, it is very much giving a perception that the subnet is simply a nonsensical, non-productive entity.

I guess the only valid response to that claim from Siam, if that is already the case, is to prove it.

Let me express my thoughts better.

Astrid, Mark, Siam and the techs have my confidence. I don’t second guess their ability or conviction.

My single biggest concern, which is so clearly being highlighted by the current predicament, is. The functioning of Bittensor and any individual subnet it contains is at the whim of a single individual.

The performance/future of Astrid Plc via its subnet ASTRID127 is revolving around the whim of a single individual who is in no way connected to the company.

That’s a problem.

My understanding is that the Arena rewards are paid via emissions. Which have been off for two weeks now. So no miners are being paid and no rewards for competitors in the Arena.

The Arena is currently the only remaining component of SN127 still functioning, and it hasn't been able to pay rewards for two weeks to its competitors

No one appears to place any urgency on this whatsoever.

No wonder the SP is on its backside.

Feel free to correct me if I have any of this situation incorrect.

Dialogue from the backroom still appears to be unsure of the narrative.

@Orochi IONode An official announcement should be done today or tomorrow, in the meantime we started the emissions yesterday for winners (UIDs 50, 128, 101).

I think const still needs to review our request to review the changes we made to align with the new rules and enable subnet emissions, so that may be why those miners may not see emissions coming in. The weights can be seen in the metagraph though. I will let you know once I have more information.

Hi @consτ [τ, τ] , just following up from a miner’s perspective — is there anything still outstanding before subnet 127 emissions can be re-enabled? The continued delay is also affecting miners who are waiting on rewards, so any update would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Would someone be kind enough to ask (on the Telegram group) how that would be affected should "the collective" decide that Astrid SN127 doesn't deserve to have its emissions reinstated?

So few people outside of Bittensor read the discord channels that I don't feel that was the issue.

When they took over, the narrative from the Edwards family was to get a placing away ASAP (according to M & S) which in hindsight would have likely have been used to gouge more consultation fees.

What unfolded then was some sort of internal power struggle that lead to the resignation of the originals. The family that spunked most of the remaining capital on themselves.

In the meantime, Bittensor is having its own post pubescent growing pains. All eyes are on the man who controls the "decentralised" network as they fiddle and meddle with how it fundamentally functions.

For me, the biggest PR issue for any company is a director publicly stating that they have little short to medium term interest in the SP of the company they run. That's a red flag to any new money entering.

So we find ourselves where we are. I trust M&S, I believe they know what they're doing and they've thrown plenty of their own cash at it now. But right now, they aren't in control of the narrative of the framework.

This is effectively a binary bet on Bittensor becoming a behemoth or not. Astrid are along for the ride.

Still, it would help if Arena gets fully functioning.

Right now little is functioning and no emissions are being paid to SN127.

On top of that, there's little in the way of communication.

I see two options, switch off and see how it unfolds. Sell out and take your chances elsewhere.

Just ran a dummy buy on HL, still nothing available over 1m.

1M got a quote at 0.14

If it is circa 10m then it's already been absorbed.

1m is the largest simgle amount available right now to buy (on HL).

Thinking the drop is overdone now. It looks like a reasonable medium to long term investment at sub 3m MC as long as they stay on track.

Added 5m this morning at the 0.14 level.

On the surface looking a lot like Spivs and crooks. One to add to the "wish I never came across it" list.

Still, I know now to ignore anything with the Stockbridge name associated with it. Another Lenigas IMO.

That has been and still is the biggest hurdle for Astrid.

It's so complex (and still evolving) that not enough people understand it fully enough to peg a firm valuation on it.

Add to this, that we don't really know where all the investments are, we don't really know how much Tao the company has on any given day and we don't really know what the timeline is for anything to develop and mature.

This is a bet on Bittensor, Siam, Mark and Ciprian. Plus other members of the team.

I see it as rather binary. This is going to either be huge or nothing, but it won't be quick.

Update on emissions - const has advised to move to one validator “Astrid” on the subnet and all others then child keying to us this will ensure one orchestrator and assessor being run. Removing the api server for co-ordination

As part of that the miner reward function will live fully in the validator with all code public of what’s makes a good agent. We will submit hash’s of proofs and this will be able to be attested by other if people wish to do so.

The validator is a docker image anyone can pull and run the backtest data on.

Well Siam actually sees this as a positive.

I have to admit, this is where I get lost. I don't understand the underlying mechanisms enough, so I require a childlike explanation.

So if Siam says it's good, then it's fine by me.

Quick clarification on Astrid Arena emissions. We have a unique incentive mechanism for miners that is tied to our arena trading competitions. Competitions run month long, and miner rewards only start paying after a competition ends and passes validation, then staggered from there. Once a competition has finished paying out, we revert to 100% burn so we only reward miners who are actively involved. We built it this way to stop hail mary trading and reward consistent gains over the full month, so we wait for finality before emissions show.

We have also just moved to full code submission, which ends in June, so those rewards pay out in July.

In the Bittensor latest update the subnet emissions have been halted incorrectly for us due to this and we will work to resolve.
