The share holder list posted yesterday shows how underrepresented UK funds are, not a single one over 1%.

The closest answer I can give, we are at the 'last knockings' so to speak.

We still need interest rates to come down, and for consumer discretionary to move up index managers lists.

Just to follow up on my earlier rambling posts; I really don't think any of the stuff posted on this thread relating to LinkedIn posts, Gorillas or any other guff has the slightest bearing on share price movements.

I bet most of the US index funds have never even heard of Matt Moulding.

Something to note relates to how these index funds work, in essence most holding THG appear to be non-discretionary.

We know from historic data there is little or no reaction to specific news such as bids, below is a graph covering US ownership (which is heavily tracker/index fund focused) for this period.

Basically didn't budge, held the same same position with no profit taking, buying or selling - THG was a component which had to include regardless.

My own view is the same will apply here with both THG and S4, it will be non-discretionary and simply a mathematical calculation based on each funds portfolio weighting, i.e Consumer Discretionary ..

Here is a good example in practice, Vanguard Developed Markets Index Fund

It shows the relatively small increases over time adding to their base holding. Acquiring the initial base holding for UK funds is where I hope to see some activity.

'The FCA currently expect the changes to the listing regime to become effective early in the second half of 2024 – with the FCA proposing to implement the changes approximately two weeks after confirming the changes.'

Election aside we are now entering that window.

Another possible way to play this (without the inherent risk of buying directly), is to look at listed Logistics Development Group which DBAY is a subsidiary of.

This is all highly speculative of course, but if Alliance release okay results, DBAY make a move then exposure can be had by investing in the parent .

Haven't looked at their business in detail but something to bear in mind perhaps.

I wasn't aware Matt had so much influence over Fed policy.

According to my records Griffiths last notified the market in December with a holding of 5.54%, this appears to have dropped to 3.2% without further notifications.

Its the strength of the underlying business that is difficult to assess with no material updates.

Its unusual for Slater investments to hold stocks such with so much turmoil.

There are two posts on the S4 thread this morning, both focused on Fed's moves v THG thread with 40 plus posts and not one (save the last two).

Both have similar drops, but THG investors focus on shorts, monsters under the bed you name it..

THG is a high beta leveraged play, if rates in the US come down it will benefit materially as everyone else follows.

Traders have jumped ship based on Fed's outlook statement last night, one rate cut this year.

Trackers will have adjusted their model accordingly hence the combined pressure of both.

Changes can be seen almost daily for larger trackers, pretty straightforward stuff..

Cheers Jatw/saigonsally, looks like the note is helping sentiment.

Its not going to take much to move the needle given small free float v outstanding shorts, could get interesting if even one institution decides to take a notifiable position.

When you think about it, the Fed is the odd man out, most other countries are looking to cut sooner rather than later.
