Qinetiq adds outgoing NAB and former RBS CEO Ross McEwan to board

Mon, 12th Feb 2024 10:08

(Alliance News) - Qinetiq Group PLC on Monday said the outgoing chief executive officer of National Australia Bank Ltd and former CEO of Royal Bank of Scotland will join its board.

Qinetiq, a Farnborough, Hampshire-based defence technology firm, said Ross McEwan will join as an independent non executive director in March. He will retire from Melbourne-based NAB on July 1.

Qinetiq Chair Neil Johnson said: "Ross brings extensive global business experience at the highest level and his successful track record is recognised in both the UK, where as CEO he transformed RBS/NatWest, and in Australia where since late 2019 he has been CEO of NAB. His intimate knowledge and understanding of the Australian market will be particularly advantageous."

Royal Bank of Scotland Group is now called NatWest Group PLC. McEwan was CEO of RBS Group until moving to NAV in December 2019.

Qinetiq said the chief people officer of Datatec Ltd, Dina Knight, also will also join the board as an independent non-executive director on March 1.

Qinetiq shares rose 0.6% to 369.40 pence each on Monday morning in London.
