IN BRIEF: Eqtec receives planning permission, selects FEED contractor

Eqtec PLC - Cork, Ireland-based gasification company focused on turning waste into sustainable energy - Secures revised planning consent for phase 1 waste recycling and anaerobic digestion facility, at Southport Hybrid Energy Park project. The project is developed with its partner Rotunda Group Ltd, and its subsidiary Shankley Biogas Ltd. Anaergia Inc will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for phase 1, as well as operations and maintenance.

Separately, notes that it has selected Petrofac Ltd as its front-end engineering design contractor for its waste-to-energy project at Haverton Hill, Billingham, Teesside. The pair have signed a letter of intent, and have not set a formal state date for the FEED. Eqtec plans to apportion Haverton into multiple, special-purpose vehicles, to enable different funding options and flexibility.

Current stock price: 0.45 pence, down 6.3% on Monday
