WPP's Kantar Media has bought the entire issued share capital of The Data Republic, a social media data analytics agency in Spain.Kantar will gain access to The Data Republic's proprietary technology including "Tuitele", which collects, measures, analyses and creates visualisations of social media conversations around TV content."This acquisition continues WPP's strategy of developing its services in important markets and sectors and strengthening its capabilities in digital media," WPP said in a statement. In Spain, WPP companies generate revenues of nearly $426m and employ over 3000 people. WPP recently raised its targets for each of fast-growth markets and new media to at least 40-45% over the next five years.Kantar Media is part of Kantar, WPP's data investment management arm.Shares in WPP fell 0.16% to 10:04 on Wednesday.RD
