LONDON (Alliance News) - TomCo Energy PLC said Thursday it has appointed a drilling contractor for its upcoming field test programme in Utah.
TurboShale Inc - in which TomCo has a 80% interest - will use Himes Drilling Co Inc for the field test programme at Holliday block in eastern Utah.
Himes Drilling will be responsible for drilling four bore holes and installing the well heads. The oil shale exploration & development company expects Himes to be complete the work during August.
Chief Executive Officer John Potter said TomCo "had a very successful trip to Utah" for meetings with state government officials.
"Building upon the contacts previously developed by Chairman Andrew Jones it was clear that we have a lot of support for the development of our TurboShale technology. We were also able to meet with Himes and this further strengthened my confidence in the success of our forthcoming field test," Potter said.
Shares in TomCo Energy were down 5.4% Thursday to 6.15 pence each.
