UK TRADING UPDATE SUMMARY: Joules In Lockdown Hit But Online Surges

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of updates by London-listed companies, issued on Wednesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

Joules Group PLC - Leicestershire-headquartered lifestyle brand - Says revenue in 13 weeks to June 1 ahead of expectations at GBP39.6 million, down 18% year-on-year. E-commerce revenue surged 63% annually but Joules hit as some bricks and mortars stores were not open through whole period.

Hornby PLC - Margate-based model train firm - Says sales and margins between April 1 and August 31 higher year-on-year. "As is usually the case in our industry; the outcome for the full year is subject to the sales rate over the key Christmas trading period and there is the potential for disruption depending on the arrangements for leaving the EU," Hornby said.

St James House PLC - lottery and e-commerce company - Says payments division saw 25% rise in pound accounts and 10% increase in euro. Lottery unit Prize Provision Services Ltd "has seen stability in the number of entries into the lotteries", despite Covid-19. Hopeful of increased entries in second half of year. Astro Kings, operator of five-a-side football pitches, still fully open with occupancy levels typical for this time of year. St James notes new Covid-19 restrictions could hurt Astro Kings but does not expect "material impact on the group".

Escape Hunt PLC - escape room operator - Signs licensing deal with software developer, giving Escape Hunt "full access" to a digital platform allowing it to develop escape games and scavenger hunts. "The announcement today represents a further important step in the development of the company's digital and remote play propositions," Escape Hunt said.

Live Company Group PLC - events firm - Signs contract for Paddington Bear showcase in White Rose shopping centre, Leeds. "This is the second time we have partnered with the White Rose centre who are delighted to be showcasing the Paddington Bear Models during the Christmas period 2020," Live Company said.

Amino Technologies PLC - Cambridge-based media and entertainment firm - Provides upcycling and cloud technology to television in Argentina. "Whilst this project is not expected to generate material revenues for the company in the year ending 30 November 2020, it is expected to secure recurring software revenues in due course, in keeping with Amino's strategic focus," Amino said.

Mobile Tornado Group PLC - Harrogate, North Yorkshire-based communications company - Extends loan facility agreement with InTechnology PLC. Facility now expires on September 26, 2021, has a maximum principal amount of GBP300,000 and bears a 10% annual interest.

Applied Graphene Materials PLC - graphene materials maker with headquarters in Redcar, Cleveland - Says car care products maker INFINITY WAX to launch QDX Graphene Detailing Spray in fourth quarter. Car polish product is graphene-enhanced, Applied Graphene said.

Fulcrum Utility Services Ltd - Sheffield-based multi-utility infrastructure and services provider - Says first quarter saw increase in activity month-on-month as lockdowns eased. Company's order book at August 31 at GBP69.4 million, up from GBP66.2 million in March.

Zoo Digital Group PLC - cloud-based localisation and digital distribution services provider - Expects to report double-digit annual revenue growth in six months to September 30. Chair Gillian Wilmot said: "This is against an industry backdrop in which the suspension of new productions is approaching six months, resulting in a significant reduction in work for all businesses associated with TV and film production, post-production and media localisation. We see this performance as a strong endorsement of our business model."

Bigblu Broadband PLC - Bicester, England-based broadband services provider - Unit Quickline wins "competitive" tender to provide wireless access in Lincolnshire. BigBlu said: "The programme will receive an initial subsidy of up to GBP4.6 million, with GBP3.1 million of funding confirmed from the Lincolnshire Local Authority and GBP1.5 million confirmed from the European Regional Development Fund. A further GBP1.5 million of subsidy is available subject to certain conditions. Quickline is also committing GBP2.0 million of investment to support the roll-out.

Oracle Power PLC - power & natural resource project developer - Using option to extend publication of interim results. Now has until October 31 to report on first half earnings.

Ilika PLC - Romsey, England-based solid-state battery technology developer - Signs framework agreement with UK Battery Industrialisation Centre solid-state pouch cells which can be used in electric vehicles.

Hardide PLC - Oxfordshire-based advanced surface coating technology - For year ended September 30, expects to report revenue of GBP4.7 million and loss before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of GBP500,000, in line with expectations.

European Metals Holdings Ltd - Australian mineral exploration & development company - Appoints Process Technologies GmbH as lead engineer for minerals processing and lithium battery-grade chemicals production at Cinovec project in Czech Republic.

Panther Metals PLC - mineral exploration company focused on Canada and Australia - Says "five areas of interest" found at Big Bear gold project, Canada following systematic grid soil sampling. Two of these areas are "high priority targets".

Hummingbird Resources PLC - African gold producer - Pasofino Gold Ltd, partner at Dugbe gold project, completed CAD10.0 million, about GBP5.9 million. "Pasofino plans to use the net proceeds from the fundraise for exploration and development work at the Dugbe project," Hummingbird said.

Bluebird Merchant Ventures Ltd - Korean-focused gold development firm - Says acquisition of gold projects owned by Southern Gold progressing. Independent expert will soon be appointed and will make a value determination within 30 days thereafter. Also notes there is "local support" for company to restart a project in Philippines which has been dormant for roughly four years.

88 Energy Ltd - Australian exploration & production company - Conducts seismic attribute work at Project Peregrine, Alaska. Says work finds "several similarities" a Project Peregrine with existing fields nearby.

Angus Energy PLC - UK-focused onshore oil and gas explorer - Raised GBP1 million through fundraising. Angus said 111.1 million shares placed at 0.9 pence each. Also seeking to raise GBP12 million through issue of senior secured debt facility.

Altus Strategies PLC - mining royalty company with headquarters in Oxfordshire - Begins trading on OTCQX Best Market in US. "OTCQX is the highest tier of the OTC market and we are delighted to be admitted to trading as a means of enhancing our visibility to prospective US investors," Chief Executive Steven Poulton said.

Blue Star Capital PLC - esports, payments and technology focused investor - Invests GBP115,500 in French firm FORMATION Esports SAS. "The purpose of the fundraise, in which the company has participated, is to provide Formation with funds to launch a dedicated esports platform aimed at providing contact sports clubs with revenue and sponsorship generating opportunities and increased exposure," Blue Star said.

Triple Point VCT 2011 PLC - venture capital trust - Notes venture share class makes three new investments. Makes GBP150,000 in 3D imaging and software business Artificial Artists. Invests same amount in background checking company Veremark. Makes GBP500,000 investment in an unnamed data encryption company.

Conygar Investment Company PLC - UK-focused property investment and development group - Says resolution to grant planning permission for Conygar development plan in Notthingham has been passed. Plans include three-storey 20,000 square feet asset with events space and rooftop terrace.

First Property Group PLC - property fund manager - Rent collection since March 31 at directly owned properties in Poland at 96%, 93% in Romania. In properties held by funds managed by FPAM, UK rent collection at 94%, Poland at 96% and Romania at 95%.

Arrow Global Group PLC - buyer of debt from banks, credit card companies and telecommunications businesses - Raises EUR300.0 million for pan-European non-performing loans fund, taking total capital commitments to EUR1.5 billion.

Uniphar PLC - healthcare services firm - Completes acquisition of US-based Diligent Health Solutions.

Oncimmune Holdings PLC - immunodiagnostics company - Signs deal with Genentech, part of Roche Holding AG to characterise autoantibody profiles in patients who are taking part in clinical trials for rheumatological diseases like Lupus.

PureTech Health PLC - biotherapeutics company - Submits draft registration statement to the United States Securities & Exchange Commission over listing of American depository shares on Nasdaq Stock Market.

SDI Group PLC - Cambridge-based medical technology firm - Says it has made "a very good start to the new financial year". Confident of delivering results in line with expectations for full-year.

ValiRx PLC - clinical-stage biotechnology company - Notes recent movement in share price. Says it will still receive VAL 201 trial findings by September 30.

Real Good Food PLC - food ingredients supplier - Reports revenue of GBP27.0 million in five months to August, down 28% lower annually. In August alone, sales down 7% year-on-year. "Whilst our businesses have been affected by the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, both Brighter Foods and Cake Decorations are experiencing recoveries in their respective markets," Chair Mike Holt said.
