Aug 5 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move on Monday:

WALL ST EDGES DOWN AS INVESTORS TAKE BREATHER FROM RALLY

U.S. stocks opened slightly lower as investors looked fornew reasons to buy following a recent rally that repeatedly tookmajor indexes to record levels. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.21 percent, the Standard & Poor's 500 Index down 0.19 percent and the Nasdaq Composite Index down 0.17 percent.

** TYSON FOODS INC, $29.57, up 4 pct (0955 ET)

The meat processor's quarterly profit more than tripled,beating Wall Street expectations, as strong demand for chickenand beef more than made up for a drop in sales of pork. Netincome from continuing operations at Tyson, the largest U.S.meat processor, rose to $249 million, or 69 cents per share,from $79 million, or 22 cents per share, a year earlier.

** REVLON INC, $25.51, up 4 pct (0953 ET)

Revlon will buy the Colomer Group, a privately held Spanishbeauty care company, for $660 million from CVC Capital Partnersto boost its presence in salons. Colomer Group markets and sellsproducts such as Revlon Professional hair care under license tosalons and other businesses.

** COMPUGEN LTD, $7.68, up 40 pct (0954 ET)

The Israeli drug developer signed a license agreement of upto $510 million with Germany's Bayer to research,develop and market antibody-based therapeutics to stimulate theimmune system against cancer. The agreement calls for bothcompanies to undertake a preclinical research program, afterwhich Bayer will gain full rights to develop and market drugsunder the deal.

** SPHERIX INC, $12.71, up 28 pct (1006 ET)

Intellectual property development company North SouthHoldings Inc, which is to be acquired by Spherix, said it fileda patent infringement complaint against No. 4 U.S. mobileoperator T-Mobile USA Inc. The technology at the centerof the complaint relates to the geolocation of cell phones onthe T-Mobile network, North South Holdings said.

** HSBC HOLDINGS PLC, $54.93, down 5 pct (0948 ET)

Europe's biggest bank posted slower-than-expected earningsgrowth and a 12 percent drop in revenue, reflecting a slowdownin growth in emerging markets. Profit rose 10 percent in thefirst half of the year as HSBC's three-year cost-cutting planstarted to pay off, but this fell short of forecasts after asteeper-than-expected drop in revenue.

China's Ministry of Commerce on Monday welcomed the EuropeanUnion endorsement of a deal to settle a dispute over the dumpingof Chinese solar panels, Xinhua news agency reported. The EU'sendorsement conforms to the interests of both parties, asChinese solar panel exporters will maintain a reasonable quotain the EU market, Xinhua said, quoting Ministry of Commercespokesman Shen Danyang. ** CHEMBIO DIAGNOSTICS, $4.5, down 8 pct (0951 ET)

Diagnostic services provider Alere Inc, whichmarkets two of Chembio's HIV tests in the United States, plansto start selling its own competing test in the region, Chembiosaid in a regulatory filing late Friday. ** SYNERGY PHARMACEUTCIALS INC, $4.79, up 4 pct(0953 ET)

The biopharmaceutical company said it reached an agreementwith the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on the design, sizeand goals of the late-stage study of its experimental chronicconstipation drug, plecanatide.

Aegis Capital reaffirmed its "buy" rating on Synergy stock,saying it expects the company will begin enrolling about 500-700patients for two late-stage studies on plecanatide in the fourthquarter of this year. The brokerage expects the drug to bepitched for regulatory approval early in 2015 and enter themarket in late 2015 or early 2016.

** CANADIAN SOLAR INC, $15.07, up 7 pct (0950 ET)

The company, which is looking to expand its utility businessto lower dependence on sales of cheap solar panels, said itwould build five utility-scale solar power plants, totaling 49megawatt, and sell it to Canadian builder Concord Pacific GroupInc for about $277 million.

** JA SOLAR HOLDINGS CO LTD, $8.81, up 5 pct (0949ET)

The Chinese solar panel maker and its affiliate JinglongGroup got a 55 million yuan ($8.97 million) credit from Bank ofCommunications of China. JA Solar said it would use the money tofund its working capital and for general corporate purposes.

** THERAGENICS CORP, $2.19, up 8 pct (0948 ET)

The medical device maker agreed to be bought by an affiliateof Juniper Investment Co LLC in a deal valued at about $138.05million. The offer price of $2.20 per share in cash represents apremium of 9 percent to the closing price of Theragenics' stockon Friday. Theragenics can solicit competingoffers from third parties through Sept. 6.

** SEQUENOM INC, $3.03, up 2 pct (0952 ET)
