Last checked at (Sharecast News) - Mobile-focussed gambling content developer Gaming Realms has been awarded a provisional iGaming supplier licence by the Michigan Gaming Control Board, it announced on Wednesday, as part of its strategy to increase its presence in the United States.
The AIM-traded firm noted that Michigan is the 10th largest state within the US, with a population of around 10 million people.
It said the licence would allow it to provide its 'Slingo Originals' game content to Michigan's licensed online casino operators once iGaming was approved to go live by the state's Gaming Control Board, which it expected imminently.
"We are delighted to have obtained our provisional iGaming license in Michigan, which presents a larger player market than New Jersey, where the group operates at present," said executive chairman Michael Buckley.
"We already have a number of deals signed with operators licensed in Michigan and we are confident that it will be a strong market for us, given the awareness of Slingo as a successful gaming brand.
"We look forward to being amongst those helping to launch its new iGaming market."
At 1532 GMT, shares in Gaming Realms were up 20.72% at 26.8p.
