LONDON (Alliance News) - Edenville Energy PLC said Monday it has appointed George Rogers as a specialist consultant in anticipation of "significant progress" it expects to make with its Rukwa coal-to-power project in south west Tanzania in the coming months.
In January, the company met with Tanzania Electric Supply Co Ltd and presented its draft formal framework for progressing the project. This framework has been formally outlined by Tanzania Electric Supply, as is standard for all companies developing power projects in the country.
Edenville said it has submitted its project concept note and is now working with Tanzania Electric Supply with the aim of executing the framework agreement following some due diligence. This framework agreement will provide Tanzania Electric's formal support for Edenville's plans to establish the plant, and it is expected that the two companies will work together to progress development plans.
Additionally, Edenville has continued to work with its advisers to collate additional project data to allow it to begin power purchase agreement and transmission line agreement talks.
Shares in Edenville were up 1.8% at 0.318 pence Monday morning.
