(Alliance News) - DX Group PLC on Monday said it opened a new depot in Plymouth, England to support the growth of the DX Express division.
The Buckinghamshire, England-based logistics company said the new depot in Plymouth was the fourth of eight depots currently expected to be opened by summer 2023.
The new express division depot is located on the Language One industrial estate in Plymouth and will serve the Plymouth and Truro areas.
DX Express previously shared premises in Plymouth with DX's freight division. It said the transition to a standalone facility enables both divisions to expand their operations in the area and further enhance service levels.
DX said expansion of parcel delivery for small and medium-sized enterprises and large national customers is a major focus.
Parcels revenue grew by 14% in the financial year that ended July 2. DX said emphasis on strong localised customer service is a key differentiator as it also aims to accelerates growth in the parcels service.
DX is currently in the second a year of GBP20 million to GBP25 million investment programme to support its DX Express and DX Freight divisions. It also is investing in new vehicles, including electric vans, equipment and new technology.
"Opening this new depot in Plymouth marks another step forward in our growth plans for the group," said Executive Chair Mark Hammond. "We see very good growth opportunities for parcels, where our service-driven, locally-based proposition is a strong differentiator and we have a clear focus on those market segments we wish to address."
Shares in DX were up 0.6% to 27.40 pence each in London on Monday afternoon.
