LONDON (Alliance News) - Concurrent Technologies PLC on Tuesday said it has launched its first processor board based on the Intel Xeon processor D-1500 family.
The TR C4x/msd will initially feature the 8-core Intel Xeon processor and up to 32 gigabytes of memory for high performance embedded computing applications in the military, aerospace and transportation markets, the company said, adding that the board is "ideal" for storage server applications and high speed networking applications.
Concurrent Technologies, which design and manufactures high-end embedded computer products for critical applications in the defence, aerospace, telecommunications, transportation, scientific and industrial markets, said initial shipments of air-cooled variants are expected to be followed with rugged, conduction-cooled variants.
"This new 3U VPX board is another proof point of our commitment to advance our Size, Weight and Power (SWAP) propositions by utilising the latest processors from Intel," Chief Executive Glen Fawcett said in a statement.
"Looking forward we are expecting to see TR C4x/msd being used to create server and storage solutions predominantly for military applications."
Shares in Concurrent Technologies were up 3.5% at 60.00 pence on Tuesday morning.
