SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: UP Global Sourcing rises on upbeat outlook

UP Global Sourcing Holdings PLC, up 4.3% at 220.60 pence, 12-month range 82.00p-238.00p. The homewares company says underlying pretax profit for the year to July 31 rose 37% to GBP11.2 million from GBP8.2 million, ahead of a market consensus of GBP10.8 million. Looking ahead, says its financial 2022 order book for the core business, excluding the effect of the recent Salter acquisition, is ahead of this time last year.

Argo Blockchain, up 3.5% at 141.80p, 12-month range 4.31p-339.81p. The cryptocurrency miner is tracking the price of bitcoin higher. The world's oldest cryptocurrency rose back above USD50,000 for the first time since mid-May.

BATM Advanced Communications Ltd, up 2.6% at 90.10p, 12-month range 78.00p-139.00p. The Israel-based networking and medical technology company says it expects earnings for 2021 to be ahead of market expectations. BATM expects annual revenue around 5% ahead of market expectations and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation more than 20% ahead of expectations. Ebitda of USD19.7 million was generated by BATM in 2020 on revenue of USD183.6 million.

Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies, up 1.6% at 2.74p, range since May IPO 2.50p-8.00p. The cannabinoid-based prescription medicines developer says it expects to report annual results for year to May 31 in line with budget. Also says it incurred GBP1.2 million of research and development costs across four development programs during the first two months of the year ending May 2022.
