Nov 1 (Reuters) - The major U.S. stock indexes traded mixedon Friday as traders digested October's surprisingly strongmanufacturing growth, with the Dow and the S&P 500 not far fromrecord highs reached earlier this week. The Dow Jones industrialaverage was up 0.16 percent at 15,570.25. The Standard &Poor's 500 dipped was up 0.02 percent at 1,756.19. TheNasdaq Composite Index was down 0.15 percent at3,913.86.

Some stocks on the move:

** CHEVRON CORP, $117.18, down 2.3 pct (12:17 p.m.ET)

The second-largest U.S. oil company reported a decline inquarterly profit due to the impact of lower refining margins,while oil and gas production increased but remained short of itstarget.

** ACCURIDE CORP $3.29, down 27 pct (12:12 p.m. ET)

The auto components maker cut its full-year revenue forecastafter reporting a bigger-than-expected loss in the thirdquarter.

** FEDERATED NATIONAL HOLDING CO, $11.41, up 11.3pct (12:26 p.m. ET)

The insurance holding company reported a higher-quarterlyprofit as the company earned higher premium and commissionincome. Net premiums earned rose 87 percent to $28.1 million forthe third quarter.

** AMERICAN VANGUARD CORP, $28.55, up 9.4 pct (01:08p.m. ET)

The chemical maker Thursday reported 8 percent rise in itsthird-quarter profit due to higher insecticide sales, and saidit expects strong demand for its products in the upcomingquarters.

** IPG PHOTONICS CORP, $60.01, down 9.4 pct (12:18p.m. ET)

The specialized laser maker reported third-quarter earningsbelow Wall Street estimates as costs rose about 27 percent andthe company forecast fourth-quarter profit largely belowexpectations. The company's gross margin in the quarter fell to53.9 percent from 55 percent, a year earlier.

IPG's stock was trading more than three times its average10-day volume.

** IRIDIUM COMMUNICATIONS INC, $5.53, down 8.3 pct(12:19 p.m. ET)

Raymond James cut its rating on the satellite operator'sstcok to "outperform" from "strong buy," according toStreetInsider.com. (http://link.reuters.com/weh44v)

The company reported better-than-expected results onThursdau but withdrew its long-range outlook citing evaluationof the impact of lower commercial equipment sales and commercialsubscriber additions on its operating plan.

** MEDIVATION INC, $64.10, up 7.1 pct (12:19 p.m.ET)

Analysts said Medivation's partner Astellas Pharma Inc reported that quarterly sales of its prostate cancerdrug Xtandi hit $108 million, ahead of consensus estimates.

Cowen and Co analyst Eric Schmidt said sales of Xtandiincreased 31 percent over the previous quarter. "Xtandibenefited from a 6 percent price increase taken during the thirdquarter, but demand also seems to have rebounded from a Junequarter that witnessed just 9 percent quarter-over-quartergrowth," he wrote in a note to clients.

** IRIDEX CORP, $7.21, up 20.8 pct (12:20 p.m. ET)

The eye products maker reported a better-than-expectedprofit for the third quarter, as sales of its consumableproducts and laser systems drove revenue up 21 percent.

** SILVERCORP METALS, $2.91, down 8 pct (12:20p.m. ET)

Analysts at Raymond James downgraded the miner's stock to"market perform" from "outperform," citing the company's recentdecision to enter a transition period at Ying Mine, which isalso its flagship mine, in an attempt to curb dilutive high costmining practices from its contractors. Silvercorp expects thistransition to result in a 45 percent decrease in ore productionand a 25 percent drop in metal production.

** CONTAINER STORE GROUP INC, $36.30, up 101.66 pct(12:21 p.m. ET)

The retailer of storage products, which sells a range ofitems from laundry baskets to luggage, raised $225 million afterpricing its initial public offering at the top end of itsincreased price range. The Coppell, Texas-based specialtyretailer, which sells a range of storage products from laundrybaskets to luggage, sold 12.5 million shares at $18 each.

** AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP INC, $48.50, down6.1 pct (12:22 p.m. ET)

The company reported earnings nearly in line withexpectations on Thursday, but the stock fell after hours asanalysts still saw room for improvement in the insurer, whichalmost went under during the financial crisis.

** OSIRIS THERAPEUTICS INC, $16.79, up 26.1 pct(12:23 p.m. ET)

The stem-cell based drugs developer reported asmaller-than-expected quarterly loss as its revenue rose morethan three fold.

** HUTCHINSON TECHNOLOGY INC, $3.03, down 18.5 pct(12:24 p.m. ET)

The company, which makes suspension assemblies for diskdrives, posted a bigger-than-expected quarterly loss hurt bylower production at its Thailand facility than the company hadexpected and continued problems in its components business.

** BILL BARRETT CORP, $29.64, up 7.1 pct (12:24 p.m.ET)

The oil and gas producer's adjusted quarterly loss was 1cent higher than analysts' average estimate, as weak prices fornatural gas liquids offset higher production and lower costs.

However, analysts said improved well results in its coreNortheast Wattenberg area in Colorado was a positive. "We expectthe shares to outperform the group on Friday given the strongstep out well results in the NE Wattenberg area," Simmons and Coanalysts said.

** ZALICUS INC, $4.54, up 3.6 pct (12:25 p.m. ET)

The pain drug developer said its experimental drugdemonstrated a statistically significant reduction in pain in anearly stage study. Based on these results, Zalicus plans to takethe drug, Z944, into mid-stage development in 2014. Z944 wasissued a second patent covering methods of treating pain on Oct.29, providing additional patent protection in the United Statesuntil at least 2029, the company said.

** CONTROL4 CORP, $17.21, up 4.6 pct (12:26 p.m.ET)

The company, which sells home automation systems, reported abetter-than-expected profit on Thursday on higher sales in NorthAmerica.

The company provides automation systems which allow ownersto control music, lighting, temperature, and security systems intheir homes through a central controlling system on a wall panelor mobile device.

** CALLIDUS SOFTWARE INC, $10.69, up 3.3 pct(12:26 p.m. ET)

The HR management software maker reportedbetter-than-expected third-quarter results on Thursday as demandrose for its cloud-based software.

** ACADIA PHARMACEUTICALS, $22.09, down 2.8 pct(12:27 p.m. ET)

The drug developer published the results of a late-stagestudy in a medical journal, where its experimental drugsignificantly reduced psychosis and maintained motor control inpatients with Parkinson`s disease psychosis (PDP).

The drug, pimavanserin, was found be safe and well toleratedin patients with PDP - a disorder that develops in up to 60percent of patients with Parkinson's. Currently, there is noFDA-approved therapy to treat PDP in the United States.

** OFFICE DEPOT INC, $5.73, up 2.5 pct (12:28 p.m.ET)

A deal to combine the No. 2 U.S. office supply retailer withsmaller rival OfficeMax Inc has won approval from theU.S. Federal Trade Commission, the companies said in a jointstatement.

** SOUTHWESTERN ENERGY CO, $37.51, up 0.8 pct(12:30 p.m. ET)

Analysts at Stifel, Nicolaus & Co raised their rating on theoil and gas producer's stock to "buy" from "hold," citing itsbetter-than-estimated production for the third quarter andpositive well results in the Brown Dense in the southernArkansas and northwest Louisiana. Analysts at Canaccord Genuityraised their target price on the company's stock to $51 from$50.

** EAGLE BULK SHIPPING INC, $5.95, up 7 pct (12.31p.m. ET)

** DRYSHIPS, $2.94, up 6.3 pct

** FRONTLINE LTD, $2.29, up 8 pct

** GENCO SHIPPING AND TRADING LTD, $3.06, up 14.6pct

** DIANA SHIPPING INC, $11.53, up 1.6 pct

** NAVIOS MARITIME HOLDINGS INC, $7.24, up 2.3 pct

** SAFE BULKERS INC, $7.59, up 1.7 pct

The Baltic Exchange's main sea freight index, whichgauges the cost of shipping commodities such as iron ore, grain,coal and fertilizer, rose for a second day on Friday and was up1.4 percent at 1,525 points in morning trade.

** BEBE STORES INC, $5.65, down 6.5 pct (12:34 p.mE.T)

Janney Capital Markets analyst Adrienne Tennant cut herrating on the women's apparel retailer's stock to "neutral"from "buy," as it expects the company to continue to face marginand comparable-store sales pressure in the next 12 months.

** WELLCARE HEALTH PLANS, $61.40, down 7.9 pct(12:35 p.m. ET)

The health insurer said Chief Executive Alec Cunninghamwould leave the company and appointed Chairman David Gallitanointerim CEO.

"The CEO announcement wasn't expected and will raise plentyof questions for a stock that is up 37 percent year-to-date and80 percent under his tenure," Jefferies analyst David Windleywrote in a note. The company, which reportedbetter-than-expected quarterly profit, cut its full-yearearnings forecast to account for spending on the implementationof Medicaid contract in Florida.

** GROUPON INC, $9.77, up 7 pct (12:36 p.m. ET)

The daily deals company launched a redesigned version of itswebsite and updated its mobile apps for the iPad, iPhone andAndroid devices. Janney Montgomery Scott LLC analyst Shawn Milnesaid Groupon's stock was "probably" up on the news. "Plus stockhas been under a lot of pressure," he said.

** ATMI INC, $28.91, up 5.7 pct (12:37 p.m. ET)

The company, which provides semiconductor material, isexploring a sale and hired Barclays Plc to sound outpotential buyers, Bloomberg reported citing two people withknowledge of the matter. Bloomberg reported citing sources thata deal may value the company at about $1 billion. (http://link.reuters.com/heh44v)

** ODYSSEY MARINE EXPLORATION INC, $2.37, up 9.7pct (12:38 p.m. ET)

The company on Friday responded to activist fund managerMeson Capital Partners allegations and said its existing publicdisclosures are accurate in all material respects.

San Francisco-based Meson Capital on Thursday published areport questioning the company's new offshore subsidiaries.Odyssey Marine's shares closed down nearly 24 percent on thenews.

** DIGIRAD CORP, $3.84, up 15.3 pct (12:40 p.m. ET)

The diagnostic imaging systems maker reported its firstquarterly profit in two years, helped by strong sales of itsnuclear and ultrasound imaging services and lower operatingexpenses.

** BRUKER CORP, $19.37, down 5.3 percent (12:41p.m. ET)

The scientific instruments maker's third-quarter resultsmissed analysts' estimates, partly due to weak demand for itsproducts from industrial markets. The company also lowered itsfull-year earnings forecast to 72-76 cents per share from the80-83 cents it earlier estimated.

The company also expects 2013 revenue to be flat or fall by1 percent, compared with its earlier estimate of 2-3 percentrevenue growth.

** AMN Healthcare Services Inc, $13.39, up 8 pct(12:42 p.m. ET)

The company, which provides healthcare staffing and clinicalworkforce management services, reported better-than-expectedthird-quarter results, helped by a strong performance in itsLocum Tenens Billing and physician permanent placement businesses.

** STARWOOD PROPERTY TRUST INC, $25.92, up 0.9 pct(12:43 p.m. ET)

The real estate investment trust (REIT), said its board hasapproved a spin-off of its single-family residential business toits stockholders. The newly formed REIT will be called StarwoodWaypoint Residential Trust and will apply to list on the NewYork Stock Exchange and trade under the ticker symbol "SWAY,"the company said.

** SS&C TECHNOLOGIES HOLDINGS INC, $38.07, down3.1 pct (12:44 p.m. ET)

The company, which makes software for financial serviceproviders, forecast fourth-quarter revenue largely belowanalysts' estimates on Thursday saying closing deals was takinglonger as it pursued bigger clients.

** ARIAD PHARMACEUTICALS INC, $2.44, up 11.1 pct(12:45 p.m. ET)

The company has suspended sales of its leukemia drug Iclusigafter an investigation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administrationfound that a significant number of patients developedlife-threatening blood clots or narrowing of the veins.

** BRUKER CORP, $19.46, down 4.9 pct (12:46 p.m.ET)

The scientific instruments maker's third-quarter resultsmissed analysts' estimates, partly due to weak demand for itsproducts from industrial markets. The company also lowered itsfull-year earnings forecast to 72-76 cents per share from the80-83 cents it earlier estimated. The company said it expects2013 revenue to be flat or fall by 1 percent, compared with itsearlier estimate of 2-3 percent revenue growth.

** CBOE HOLDINGS INC, $49.04, up 1.3 pct (12:47p.m. ET)

The company, which operates the biggest U.S. stock-optionsmarket, reporter higher-than-expected quarterly profit onincreased trading of exclusively listed contracts tied tostock-market indexes and volatility.

** BOTTOMLINE TECHNOLOGIES, $34.83, up 10.8 pct(12:48 p.m. ET)

The company, which provides payment, invoice and documentautomation products, reported better-than-expected results onThursday helped by strong subscription and transaction revenue,and raised its forecast for the year ending June 2014. Needhamraised its price target on the stock by a dollar to $36.

** SPIRIT AEROSYSTEMS HOLDINGS INC, $28.43, up 6.5pct (12:51 p.m. ET)

The maker of fuselages and wings for Boeing Co andAirbus, reported a 10 percent rise in quarterly revenuedue to strong demand for large commercial aircraft.

** NETFLIX INC, $328.22, up 1.8 pct (12:54 p.m. ET)

Brokerage Robert W Baird and Co Inc raised its rating on thecompany's stock to "outperform" from "neutral," according toTheflyonthewall.com.

** GREEN DOT CORP, $24.88, up 15.9 pct (12:55 p.m.ET)

The prepaid card company's third-quarter results beatanalysts' estimates as card revenues rose, and raised itsoutlook for the year. Green Dot said it expects full-yearadjusted earnings of between $$1.10 and $1.20 per share.

J.P. Morgan Securities raised its rating on the stock to"overweight" from "neutral," according to Theflyonthewall.com.

** ARTISAN PARTNERS ASSET MANAGEMENT INC, $58.94,down 1.6 pct (12:55 p.m. ET)

The investment management firm priced its offering of 4.8million shares at $56 per share, a discount of about 6 percentto its Thursday's closing price.

** MOHAWK INDUSTRIES INC, $137.67, up 4 pct (01:01p.m. ET)

The maker of floor covering products late on Thursdayreported third-quarter earnings in line with analysts estimatesas new residential construction and remodeling drove up sales.The company forecast fourth-quarter earnings to be higher thanWall Street expectations.

** BARRICK GOLD CORP, $18.10, down 6.7 pct (01:01p.m. ET)

The world's largest gold producer said on Thursdaythat it will issue more than $3 billion in stock as it looks toimprove its liquidity position by paying down its large debtload.

** CANADIAN SOLAR INC, $24.86, up 8.1 pct (01:02p.m. ET)

The Chinese solar products maker said it had been awarded acontract to supply 100 megawatt photovoltaic modules for a solarpower project in Guazhou County in China.

** AUDIENCE INC, $11.09, down 2.9 pct (01:03 p.m.ET)

The audio-chipmaker forecast fourth-quarter results largelybelow analysts' estimates, hurt by weak demand from its biggestcustomer, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd.

J.P. Morgan Securities lowered its price target on thecompany's stock following results.

** ELLIE MAE INC, $23.84, down 17.5 pct (01:04 p.m.ET)

The company, whose software is used by mortgageprofessionals, reported a lower-than-expected third-quarterprofit, hurt by lower mortgage volumes and higher R&D spending.

** TRIMBLE NAVIGATION LTD, $32.82, up 15.1 pct(01:05 p.m. ET)

The navigation software maker reported better-than-expectedquarterly earnings and forecast a strong fourth quarter, helpedby robust sales in the transport and logistics sectors.

** BODY CENTRAL CORP, $4.05, down 28 pct (01:06p.m. ET)

The women's apparel retailer reported a larger-than-expectedquarterly loss as it struggled to attract customers. ChiefExecutive Brian Woolf attributed the disappointing third-quarterresults to a decline in U.S. mall traffic and the overallweakness in the women's apparel sector.
