AIM WINNERS & LOSERS: Rotala skids on Burnham's Manchester bus reform

Fri, 26th Mar 2021 11:33

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers on AIM in London on Friday.

----------

AIM - WINNERS

----------

Aura Energy, eleven times higher at 5.6 pence, 12-month range 0.4p-9.05p. Shares in the Australia-based minerals company were restored to trading Friday, having requested they be temporarily suspended on Monday. The rise reflects Aura's 13-into-1 share consolidation.

----------

Proteome Sciences, up 36% at 5.17p, 12-month range 2.64p-7p. The drug development services provider says it expects annual profit "materially higher" than announced in January. "This is primarily due to higher-than-expected royalty receipts from Thermo Scientific for the last quarter of 2020," it explains. For 2020, expects post-tax profit of GBP30,000, up from GBP20,000 the year before, on revenue that remains unchanged from GBP4.6 million the prior year.

----------

Safestay, up 8.5% at 20.6p, 12-month range 10p-22.1p. The hostels operator says it has agreed to sell the Edinburgh Hostel to a&o Hotels and Hostels for GBP16 million in cash, representing a 22% premium to the GBP13.4 million book value.

----------

AIM - LOSERS

----------

Rotala, down 19% at 27p, 12-month range 0p-40p. The West Midlands-based bus operator says it applied for a judicial review of Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham's plan for the local government to take control of bus services, which he approved on Thursday. Rotala says it had already sought a review of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority's consultations into the plan and the process by which they were carried out. The court proceedings will take place in late May. The franchising system will give the local government in Manchester the power to set fares, timetables and routes.

----------

Global Petroleum, down 11% at 0.63p, 12-month range 0p-1.94p. The oil and gas company says first half pretax loss widens to USD3.1 million from USD748,541 year before and did not generate revenue in interim or year before.
