Aberforth Smaller Companies Trust PLC - invests in UK smaller companies - Net asset value down 36% in half year to June 30, compared to 25% decline for Numis Smaller Companies Index, its benchmark. NAV per share on June 30 was 989.16 pence, down from 1,570.15p on December 31 and 1,350.34p on June 30, 2019. Share price total return was negative 39% during a period that "will undoubtedly go down as one of the most dramatic half years in the company's 30 year history". Hires Victoria Stewart as independent non-executive director. Was a fund manager at Royal London Asset Management. Is non-executive director of Secure Trust Bank PLC and JPMorgan Claverhouse Investment Trust PLC.
