Applied Graphene Gets Positive Results From Base Oil Tests

Thu, 14th May 2015 09:26

LONDON (Alliance News) - Applied Graphene Materials PLC on Thursday said it has secured positive results following performance testing conducted on base oils enhanced using the company's graphene.

The initial results from the tests found the low loading levels of graphene nanoplatelets produced by the company reduce the friction and wear on metal surfaces. This will open up a route for the company to develop commercial applications for performance oils and greases using its graphene products.

"Following on from our recent positive independent coatings trial results, it is pleasing to now receive BfB Oil Research's initial findings on graphene-enhanced base oils which indicate that these positive results can be translated to higher volume applications," said Chief Executive John Mabbitt.

Shares in Applied Graphene were up 6.6% to 282.5 pence on Thursday.
