Agreed with both of you on this risk, its one of the things most playing on my mind as gold keeps increasing. obviously EDV is trading on multiples to THX due to the geographic diversification of its mines, so the risk is heightened. Timelord you make a good case on the Osun issue and I am wondering why nothing has been said on this, maybe they dont want to embarrass the local government and are just sweeping it under the rug, maybe there's founded evidence and there's still an ongoing investigation. There is that risk still, which is playing on the share price. The political environment in Nigeria is very much pro foreign investment currently though and a pro capitalistic, private enterprise mindset. Although theres that risk SRB in Brazil given the very left leaning government is just as likely to see nationalisation and my shares are up 260% there.
Hoping you are wrong too Ten although you do make a case, especially when gold continues to rise, its more painful for governments to ignore. I think of the UK north sea industry after the oil price skyrocketed for instance and windfall taxes were introduced.. silver lining is they still made record profits i guess..
