Fidelity Japan Trust Share Price (FJV)

I have had this fund for 4 years ,i put 20k in,now it is woth 14k

i wish the managers would read some of these posts and give

us an explanation why it is such a dog,as such i do not invest in any Fidelity trusts

In 3 years (since 2021) the gap between this FJV Investment Trust and an ETF tracking the Nikkei is 32%. A tracker is up 16% while FJV is down around 16%. Shockingly bad performance from FJV. Makes you wonder what stocks they're selecting to have done so spectacularly awful. As I said a year ago - don't be fooled.

Although it’s good to see the recent 10% uplift here, they should have done much better. Gap to ETF index tracker is widening all the time. FJV have singularly failed its investors in comparison. A simple tracker would have performed far better and with lower management costs coming off.

The. Sp, requires to close above price pivot of 159.5, to bring price in line with the major price bottom of August 2023. Volume today has been high, so if price does close 160 or better , buy, but keep reasonably close stop order below 159. Price target would then be area of intervening high after August 2023.

Looks like japan dumped all their junk stock on Uk japanese investment trusts. Nikkei now 25% up while the trusts languish around their miserable lows. Cunning plan investing in unlisted companies that nobody wants to buy.
