I initialy bought in here at 17p and watched go all the way to £1.70,there I was patting myself on the shoulder telling myself what a wonderful stock picker I was.Sold out at 50p,it then got to 30p so decided to dip my toes again, then to average down to 18p,it's just unbelievable it's taked such a massive knock. One part of my brain is saying jump in at these prices and get your average even lower, but the sensible part is telling me not to be such a prat for even considering such a gamble.
The former useless incompetent CEO is still on gardening leave whilst serving out his notice. £30,000 a month he is being paid as well. Utter disgrace. he should be in jail
General context/competition. Amazing to see what Adobe previewed last week. Liquid crystal fabrics programmable with animations from Adobe products. Hopefully there's scope for similar with graphene inks (I've asked). Enormous possibilities for the home furnishings market as well as wearables. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvGquKkSFMM
Fatherelmer I should use my words carefully . I stand corrected coerced wasn’t the right word to use . Well he did convince me to invest . It’s a shame I lost around £179k on this company . I’ve recouped the losses by my other investments but this was a very bitter pill to swallow at the time .
AIM investment isn’t for the faint hearted. Very sad to see the demise of this local company. Personally I don’t blame NR for being enthusiastic about his company but perhaps the board couldn’t keep him being perhaps over confident. Whilst he’s getting paid a wage as no doubt his contract requires he’s probably lost more than anyone in financial and credibility terms. I sold my modest holding this morning as I don’t want a deferred share complicating matters ( will they be held outside ISA?) but wish the company well in its survival. The loss is still painful but my investment judgement even more hurt!
JamesSimon, I understand you are bitter about losses that you've incurred from your own investment decisions but you need to get your language correct as coerced probably isn't correct - definition of coerced: persuade (an unwilling person) to do something by using force or threats. Neill may have been bullish (hint it's a CEOs job to talk up the company) but that's all.
NR the fat man who loves eating curries coerced me to invest in his Graphene once in a lifetime co . I got in at the peak and then suffered the most horrendous loss . What a con man . He should be arrested and locked up . Fraudster bar steward !

I came across this today and would like to share it with you (in case it has not been posted before).

Very interesting find, timkford.i had never heard of bidstats before. not looking to read too much into things, but encouraged to see a contract award, regardless of the value, as it suggests the awarder believes they will still be going to fulfil it. just my opinion.
They have been awarded a contract for around £50k. Something to help keep the lights on until Cementene is selling (now registered in the US, UK and S.Korea) https://bidstats.uk/tenders/2023/W41/808583175
Darkryder, that;s easy - it's a recovery play (albeit a high risk one). There are also others (of which I am one) who still believe in the company and have been invested for a while.
I'm quite baffled as to why people are buying this rock !

The last paragraph might be of interest to people invested here.
I'm out.
VRS have been / are involved in the Battery space - I can think of 3 different avenues:
- Gnanomat have some products in this space; have done some research (Zinc air I think it was); have been / are working with Skeleton (possible via Graphene Flagship)
- the dockside transport pod with Westfield
- the battery production research / activity with / at WMG
So don't write off VRS in the battery space just yet.
Also things are perhaps not quite as "dead" in Korea as it may appear as Cementene has just been successfully trade Marked over there (to follow on from the similar announcement from the USA)
So I assume that Versarien sees no future in pursuing CVD technology using the assets acquired form Hanwha in December 2020. This acquisition included over 100 patents and related IP originally vested in Samsung together with the equipment required to produce large format electronics grade graphene. Shame - this could have been a major growth opportunity (no pun intended). Separately I also see no strategy to exploit graphene to improve the efficiency of lithium batteries, perhaps even avoiding the need to use cobalt or other transition metals for the cathodes. Given the drive to set up UK-based manufacture of EV batteries I would have expected Versarien to have been eager to become a leading player here.
The scale of cash burn in last six months of almost £2m versus current market capitalisation £2.5m illustrates the scale of the fundingchallenge.
If VRS can sell business that will lengthen cash runway but buyers don’t appear to be that keen and if they are smart they can see that VRS is short of cash.
Outlook looks grim
Is there a hint of desperation here? Not looking good - in a very round about way - looks like this company is in a death spiral. More than happy to be corrected.
I think the peeps buying today must also enjoy the thrill of the casino. Just a gamble atm until more is known about the future finances....
Slow painful death to bankruptcy more like ! :-/
These will fly
NR has taken £20k wages per month month after month whilst his company has been on its knees month after month … leave it there!
Piltick - sorry to hear that. At least mentally you can move on now without having it lingering!
I am out too. That hurt ……. but I have learnt from the experience!
