Geo, at 94p you are doing a whole lot better than most on here that are seriously under water & I wish you good fortune. Your figures as quoted are dependent of course on the dividend not being cut & I hope that it isn’t, but it is in danger. There are a lot of people here that have watched VOD decline year on year so prepare for grumpiness & don’t take it personally. Never get too attached to a share as a lot here have become.
"can a new ceo turn this company around I'm not sure, but hoping this will move out of the pound shop soon"
Does anyone else find it strange that there's been no news around who'll become the new CEO? Read's consulting position finishes at the end of this month and It was back in January that Vodafone apparently hired recruitment consultants Egon Zehnder, but it's gone very quiet. You'd think there would be some big names who'd want to become CEO of a company like VOD, but even the rumours appear to have stopped. I'm still mildly suspicious that a big merger may be in the pipeline and I don't mean the Vodafone UK/Three merger.
@Porsche question:
In your highly regarded expert technical analysis, are there any companies which are not “dogshxt?”
as much as i would like to stay positive, Its very difficult when the share price is still below a pound ? i don't take any notice of Porsche as we all know he goes around all the boards when any shares take a hit, but you can't deny what's happened here in the last six years you only have to look at the charts, can a new ceo turn this company around I'm not sure, but hoping this will move out of the pound shop soon, would be nice to see some gains here before the next results
Dan, it's about time you got back here to motivate us ?
"so whats ur postive spin? how will share price recover to what it was 5 years ago?
how is vodafone not going to cut dividend. its at 8.5% plus today"
Vodafone may, or may not cancel the dividend, but that subject has been flogged to death. The price will go where the market decides to send it, but the stock is good value at the current price, taking into account the cash flow and the assets. Clearly Liberty and E& see something you don't and maybe even know something you don't. Just because VOD is currently sitting at under £1 now, doesn't mean it wont be £2 in a couple of years, which would be far more likely than it dropping to 30p as someone else mentioned recently.
Now this looks like a good top up price.
stay positive guys
@geo….that’s 5 pc return a year before tax haha, may as well leave the cash in the bank….and of course, Vod shares will be about 30p by then and the dividend vaporised. Look at the charts for this, the future writes itself. Dogshxt.
so whats ur postive spin? how will share price recover to what it was 5 years ago?

mehmehmeh and Mikeyh68, it doesn't bother me, but don't you get bored of constantly posting negative spin day after day? Everyone's entitled to an opinion, but the content of your posts aren't even convincing. By all means carry on if you wish, but it's only your own time you're wasting.
And, in 2040 I'll have received £1.36 in divi's from my 94p investment in VOD.... yep Gaz, your glass is really half-empty mate.
Fast forward to the year 2040 & if the lord wishes we will all still be here.
What won’t have changed will be Mikey posting about his ski slope, only with global warming there won’t be much of that about. Other holders will be saying, I’ve a feeling this is the year for VOD & they will be wrong … AGAIN
Think malone used derivatives to get his %. He's probably a chunk of this move.
I'm going to give it another 10 years and then I am out
I'm sure they probably regret it and have dug themselves in a big loss.
I wonder how long before Liberty and e& realise they have made a big balls ip and start reducing their holdings . Pointless just watching their investment drop on a daily basis
Maybe Vodafone should delist in UK and relist in frankfurt
Struggling to stay positive already :(
Thats sad news - Vinod is a great leader for Vodafone Business , probably one of the best of the executive committee .
Surprised this dogshxt is still over .90, about .80 is where it should be giving a market cap of approx 20b. Dividend will be scrapped like most of the other dividend capital destructive dogs, think direct line. Interesting how hard ftse is getting pasted, Nasdaq up, full on rotation out of anything cyclical, think oil mining banks and into growth stocks again as we enter full on multi year recession. Thank god I took the hit and unloaded this U.K. crxp at 1.46 and put the money into Nvidia at an exchange rate of 1.35…..sterling now toast of course along with brexit basket case U.K. in general,
The drop is modest compared to financials and energy. I've had a really negative outlook on Vod - until now.
Careful dibbieboy. If I can figure you are a stooge account then pretty sure LSE can. It is illegal, as you know.
Exceptionally dumb comments too. If you get your capital back, stocks and global economies must be rising. Why would you get out? A buy high sell low merchant, or just trying to trick some into doing what you want?
Everything affects vodafone - the colour of the socks the ceo is wearing , the number of size 9 shoes are employed - the weather in taiwan etc etc etc - the price of milk
If this drops back into 80s I will be back in,yes my bt shares are doing pretty good, but would sell some to buy Vodafone again, fingers crossed.
bt is skyrocketing.
I thought this year was looking promising. But I told myself that for about 4 years now. I still feel this year will be a turning point. Get my capital back and get the hell out.
