Android101 did you research dividend coverage under 1?.
Wether you agree with my point of view is neither here or there to me. But you seem to have a blinkered approach when it comes to vodaphone...
Let's hope it don't materialise into blind faith...
Do I think the dividend will be cancelled no, that would be catastrophic to the SP can it be cancelled it's possible whilst it's possible. But hey ho let's just add more debt to the mountain of debt that's going to cost more to service going forward...
Happy days it seems to some invested here...
Cartune, 'any company'.
VOD is not any company, it is (mostly) a regulated company and its returns monitored hence 3VOD UK merger and CMA outcome about to land
Any company that can not cover their dividend is in my opinion performing poorly...
Cartune, 'Vodaphone is performing poorly to say the least!'
How do you know? Reporting is a few weeks away
Getting tetchy on here about divs. While they are nice the SP moves more . If you are lucky can get both. VOD is up for sale, dont get caught with your pants down guys

And need pi's to sell. Cartune you dont post very often and been around since 2014 but turn up today worried about div cover?
Why would you state that I'm worried about the dividend. I clearly told you I'm out of vodaphone and I am waiting with cash to get back in at 80p. I wish every investor well. I'm just stating what I think. Is that not what everyone does on these boards...
Further more if the Divi is reduced or even cancelled which is possible. Think about it you make £80 and give out £100 how long is that sustainable for...
Perhaps you should search out dividend coverage under 1 and what it represents.
I'm not saying that things can't improve in the future, but right now Vodaphone is performing poorly to say the least!...
Wonder when we will get the info that e& or Liberty have had enough and sold out . The way its going seems to be some big sells drip feeding through
Bought in here a while ago and watched it go over a £ and back down again! Wish I hadn't bothered! Let's hope they keep the good dividend to make up for it. It's looking like a long slog to get anywhere near a good sell price though.
And need pi's to sell. Cartune you dont post very often and been around since 2014 but turn up today worried about div cover?
Car tune, you could be right. I think its option expiries and iis etc rolling over contracts this week.
And down it goes again
Also the dividend coverage is 0.8 anything below 1 is cause for concern. Vodaphone are currently borrowing money to pay a dividend. Which is adding to a mountain of debt. You don't have to be intelligent to understand that, that's unstainable especially in a higher rates environment.

What page 29 is not telling you is how many are leaving vodaphone for cheaper deals elsewhere. If Vodaphone was anywhere near to what your stating the SP would reflect that would you not think. I've been in and out of Vodaphone many times. But I stick by my earlier comments. I can and have been wrong on occasions. But when I ask myself at what price am I willing to jump back in to Vodsphone 80p is my target.
'MDV on point to deliver €1Bn cost savings and keep the cash flowing for the dividend'
yep, orders is orders. €1Bn or she is not going to last long
Cartune, according to this source (page 29) 5 countries had cpi linked pricing in last FY and should be coming through in this years numbers. 7 countries at H1 this FY, so 2 countries just started. MDV on point to deliver €1Bn cost savings and keep the cash flowing for the dividend. No material near term debt to repay. All that Vantage and Hungary cash to go somewhere.. who would know better than MDV?

What a cracking ski slope that was after it had clawed its way back up
As long as interest rates are rising Vodafone will struggle. If interest rates start to fall that could be a catalyst for the SP to move higher. Earning and Divi to be announced soon. Divi looks under pressure Imo nothings guaranteed. Recent hike in mobile plans won't be reflected in this seasons earning. I personally think this could go to 80p before it hits a £1. Holding cash waiting on 80p DYOR
Careful Jax that last comment could be construed as being negative and daniel won’t like that all. He only wants to read positive posts and all posters must do as he says and yes Gutter and Mikey that means you as well.
Perhaps Dan you yourself could post something of worth to others, just saying..
Bt and Vodafone vastly different performance. And still no CEO.
You’d think that would be a good average but hello 80s again.
Gutter, you talk complete nonsense. but you at least admit it. It would be nice , if we could get this forum out of the gutter? One day? There are no bargains, unless you spot them before everybody else!
Hi gutter, well good luck trying to predict where things will be in a few months time, we are living in a crazy world at the moment, some people prefer to drip feed or add in a few stages rather than trying to find the bottom, and maybe it's already got there, who knows
robleo - there aren't any bargains anywhere lately, the market is very high. Anyone buying now is likely to lose quite a lot of money. The only one that still looks cheap is Vodafone but it's only cheap because of its huge debt probably.
The best thing to do is wait at least a couple of months and maybe buy then if the market has fallen hard.
gutter, so what bargains have you picked up so far, please share with us
