It will be interesting to watch hobs morph from the latest excited new investor into next years latest dissapointed shareholder calling for the CEO's head.
Mind you, they don't have one, so no worries there.
In the meanwhile Gary I’ll enjoy an 8% return on my investment having just brought in….
It’s oversold I think so is treading water. Can see a leg up to £1+
Haha
Hmmmm, where did I say I was upset? It's ok for people to express opinions, but to directly tell people to take a specific course of action is clearly wrong. I don't worry about my investments, since I consider my capital to be safe long term.
dalesflyer, judging by the frequency of your posts and their content you're not a serious poster anyway, why don't you take a break for another month, or two, and then pop back in with another irrelevant post once you've recharged enough neurons.
Watching your pile dwindle here seems to be upsetting you. Don’t get too attached and know when to get out.
TBH, my crystal ball say’s Vodafone is going to be a cracking investment for me. Lol
"To anyone thinking of spending £££’s on buying Vodafone shares “JUST DONT”"
Are you giving out Financial advice Gary?
Isn't it up to others to decide on how to spend their money, or where to invest?
Who's to say that Vodafone isn't a fantastic investment at the current price?
Since neither you nor I have a crystal ball, we don't know which way the stock price will go in the near future.
To anyone thinking of spending £££’s on buying Vodafone shares “JUST DONT”
I think you misspelt centuries
Bought in for the sipp. Can see this do very well over the next few decades!
Scaredycat, i don't want to add to the moaning today, but thing you can rely is Vodafone never exceeds expectations, but would be nice to see this get over a £1 again
Thanks for the discussion Android et al and the link.
Page 15 in the link is interesting and says H1 FY23 leverage position was impacted by seasonality of cash flow and we will see a big uptick in H2/ FY reporting. My guess [hope] is exceeding expectations.

Danny boy ain't gonna like it...
Vodafone is best company in the world
Happy now .. ffs noones allowed an opinion .. wallow in your own misery lover...
See you at 80p
There has to be a lower limit for a stock price decline, unless a company is insolvent. Even if VOD drop the dividend, which is entirely possible, the best thing current holders could do is hunker down and ride it out. I thought VOD wouldn't hold long under £1, but here we are around 90p, so there's a pretty good chance the market has already priced in a dividend cut and any drop from here is likely to be short lived.
I don't view the dividend coverage as a particular issue for heavy infrastructure telecoms companies I'm more concerned with FCF. Cash is king after all... based roughly on 2022 figures cash balance increased €1.6b after €2.5b dividends paid and €2.7b reduction in debt. That's not to say that 2023 will be positive for cash flow and they still cut the dividend just that they don't necessarily need Net Income to be greater than the dividend payment as they have €11b of annual depreciation for assets which is non cash impacting.
It's Vodafone, not Vodaphone lol, it gets a little frustrating to see the incorrect spelling after a while,
I'm not invested in Vodaphone how many times do I have to tell you..
As things are I won't invest here at anything over 80p
Things could change but they are my thoughts...
Cartune. VOD earnings are regulated and div cover is a meaningless measure on its own. If you are investing for a div, buy a div tracker etf. Div cover wont improve if the SP is 50p. But SP can spike on a number of upcoming events
Android101 did you research dividend coverage under 1?.
Wether you agree with my point of view is neither here or there to me. But you seem to have a blinkered approach when it comes to vodaphone...
Let's hope it don't materialise into blind faith...
Do I think the dividend will be cancelled no, that would be catastrophic to the SP can it be cancelled it's possible whilst it's possible. But hey ho let's just add more debt to the mountain of debt that's going to cost more to service going forward...
Happy days it seems to some invested here...
Cartune, 'any company'.
VOD is not any company, it is (mostly) a regulated company and its returns monitored hence 3VOD UK merger and CMA outcome about to land
