Based on the recent moves by sovereign wealth funds keen interest in telcos and the blocking by orange, DT and now Telefonica, it seems plausible the beneficiary of external cash pile into the sector on the European side is Vod.
That coupled with the PE FOMO into the same sector bodes well and could signal the multi-year reversal trend.
How times have changed!! https://www.commsupdate.com/articles/2006/12/19/vodafone-sells-swisscom-mobile-stake/ The prey that became the predator. Same cycle will get repeated over and over again in the coming decades.
The share doesn't care what we as investors think or do,or anyone else's opinion or charts . It's about sentiment in the market place ,is the company moving in the right direction to turn itself around.
The only thing is have i invested my money in the right place to make a profit.
Just had a look in and see VOD is up when most everything else is down.
Makes a nice change lol
I have bought into VOD at an average of around 76p over the last year or two. But I have been a customer for 20+ years and finally spat the dummy and moved to another supplier this year due to lack of competitive pricing - and some poor customer service.
I have a 'rule' to not buy into shares where I don't like the company from a customer's perspective (I cannot be alone, and no company survives long with a declining customer base).
So now I am conflicted. My heart says 'dump the shares' my head says they must go up....
Same
Its time to rise and shine my target is 99p
3Accountant…….my thoughts and actions too. Good luck.
VOD up nicely as the bull market pauses.
Wonder how many people had the same idea I was planning, profit take the up shares of the last week and move the £ over to VOD. Good long term sign for me.
For a stock this large, at this price, it feels a safe +30/40% over the next 12/18 months.
This has to be a total no brainer as one of the safest investments around right now.
Sitting at a near historical low and paying over a 10% divi with only good news to come. I am starting to pile back. Hopefully my 100% profit in Petrofac will bring me luck here too.
Jax the muppet - Buy on rumour (Swisscom etc) sell on news. Vod up today Muppet or did I already say Muppet?
This time on counter offer italy news, vodafone is moving up slowly and steadily instead of big spike and then drop..
Looks like a good sign for bull..
Good luck!
I totally agree
I think our new ceo has made a competent start and is showing every sign of turning this complex company around but it will take time.
Not merge guru.. she cannot handle the big company like vodafone. She got the wrong job. She is not trying to improve the business. Only trying to make it smaller so that she can manage it easily. Funny thing is that she gets paid millions for saying " we are not good enough" LOL
MDV the merge guru
Or the one trick pony
Thanks alot meshtrader👍
Great findings in particularly the Bloomberg Canada SwissCom article.

There are plenty of suitors wanting to get into bed with vod to cut there costs
In investing in the infrastructure or expanding there footprint where they are in direct competition, all of this takes time to pick the right partner.
Or sell their business for the right price.
Vod needs to make the right decision to move the company into more profit ,and value for it's shareholders.
Something that's not going to help in the short term, stay calm fretting about
Something that's out our control.
You only make money investing large companies by being patient.
Ise2000. Stick to poetry mate, forget the stock market.
Another bid ;-) and coupled with https://www.ft.com/content/4d73cb8e-78ee-42d8-9121-7c47da177782, it seems as if telcos are now earmarked as undervalued assets by PEs. Let's see for how much longer the sp lingers under 100.

So far Vodafone managed to hold above 66p when market was rising. Tomorrow when market will enter into correction mode, lets see how much further it has to fall.
I am sure Margharitta will remain quiet as long as she could and the share price will keep going lower.
I hope she dont delay too much delay before Illiad walks away !
Avi, " jax, if vod is so bad, why do you keep buying in?" Because he loves to tease you, & you like it?!
Trading this pos Avi
Not at the moment - needs to settle down its still too volatile . Maybe in the new year
Gary59, I do hope you are right about that, don't want to be having an anti climax here lol
Regardless of what happens
have a good xmas and a happy new year, and the same to you Mikey, any thoughts of getting back in here?
Jax if vod so bad, why do you keep buying in?
