It's quite clear that Reid is totally out of his depth. When he asks for cost cutting it does not include his unearned rising salarly and bonuses. If you work for Vod bonuses are carefully calibrated against your performance, so how does he get away with it? The vultures are circling for him and hope he resigns out of decency but of course he won't. The good news is Eti who paid 1.30 for just under 10% were unable to launch for the rest as they said they would not when they bought them. That was 6 months ago, now they can put in a bid, if they offer 1.30 for the rest i'd vote yes and rid myself of this carp
Mole_man……….well if you can show me a safer place please show me. A nice divi with lots of potential for recovery just suits me fine.
Buy when others are fearful, plus their net revenue and profit is on the rise.
Moniman………This is not one of those neighbourhoods.
Don't be surprised if you come back to this safe car park to find you've got two flat tyres, a broken windscreen and your stereo has gone!

"How is this a safe place to park money?"
How is it not?
I don't know what's going to happen after ex dividing
How is this a safe place to park money?
It's looking very oversold, just bounced off a key level and has a juicy div lined up, can't resist a tickle! Worst case LTH it and reinvest the Divs into bonds.
Decided to take some profit first thing from my IAG holding as I thought Covid news coming out of China may spook the airlines again.
Parked another £15K here as I have the feeling we have hit rock bottom and with a reasonable divi coming on Thursday it seems a nice safe place to park it.
Put me down for 96.8p as ex div, this will eventually climb but not yet!

"Now come on fleecy, stop splitting hairs,we all make typos. Stick to your point please, which you normally make very well in my opinion. Have a good day."
Toff makes a point of calling me Fleecy, most recently on the BT chat page. I'm afraid it's guilt by association for Gary; Defending Toff while calling me Fleecy demanded a response. no hair splitting on my part.
Now come on fleecy, stop splitting hairs,we all make typos. Stick to your point please, which you normally make very well in my opinion. Have a good day.
"Fleecy - I have been reading Toff's posts on various boards for a long time & he / she is certainly a person worth paying attention to."
Gary, the fact you called me Fleecy instead of Fleccy tells me you don't pay attention to detail. Vodafone have been in debt since they were formed. They could have completely wiped out the debt with the sale of their stake in Verizon Wireless but chose not to. I have no idea why Telecom companies maintain debt on their books, as they could reduce it over time should they wish. I know BT recently used the debt as a poison pill when it was speculated Drahi was making a move, maybe it has something to do with that.
I suspect Vodafone will look at reducing debt going forward, as the market has issue with it, not because they need to.
