These figures are from last financial update. New figures will be different in the May update. Hopefully debt is reduced substantially
Total liabilities 96b not 76b.
Net asset value is circa 56b. Yes, it’s more than double the current mcap
Hi slarti, taking your figure that vod has total assets of 154 billion euro, & I believe their gross debt is about 76 billion euro, 154 minus 76 = 78 billion euro. So way above their market cap. Does this mean that vod is way underpriced? What do you all think?
3 will take on some Vodafone debt for equity. Vodafone will reduce some debt from their books and transfer to the new entity. Overall should be positive for the sp
*€154Bn total assets
Hi Robleo, the uk merger is removing the cost of 1 network and overheads where there are currently 2. Personally I think it is followed by an IPO but could also be a move by liberty/ malone for additional consolidation in the uk. When the Nynex, bell cable media , videotron mergers happened with CW I ended up 176% cash return plus shares in NTL. Hard to model the outcome but VOD has c€154 total assets and €25Bn market value. It's not day trading, just an inevitable medium term change following government economic policies with day to day risks if you have move your position or believe guttersnipe et al

@ 'If the merger does go ahead, will this affect the Vodafone share price?'
I think it will rerate to a more profitable/ higher horizon value also if the rest of EU follow the benefits of consolidation (malone and niel betting it will). Makes it a safer long term harbour for investors and
well that's a nice thought and hope your right, but how will it work in reality does anyone know ?
when Tesco and Aviva sold off parts of their business, there was a return of capital to share holders but they then reduced the amount of shares you had, so you ended up with only two thirds of the shares you previously had which meant you was no better off at all, could something like that happen here ?

Hitchikers guide to the stock market. The big question about life, the universe & the vod share price is, is it 42? You have to understand the question before you understand the answer? It could be 42p more than today,or just42p Or a really crazy £42. one day in the restaurant at the end of the universe perhaps, with inflation!! I wonder what Marvin the manic depressive robot would think? Sorry to any Marvins on here, who might take offence!? Usual caveat nonsense?! Happy Easter.

“You want to check your legal position, you do, mate. Under law the Quest for Ultimate Truth is quite clearly the inalienable prerogative of your working thinkers. Any bloody machine goes and actually finds it and we’re straight out of a job, aren’t we? I mean, what’s the use of our sitting up half the night arguing that there may or may not be a God if this machine only goes and gives you his bleeding phone number the next morning?”
“That’s right,” shouted Vroomfondel, “we demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty!”
Hello Daniel. To be honest, £2+, but the media has capped it at 185 (Deutsche Bank) so who am I to disagree.
Deep Thought of course was only the 2nd most advanced computer in the galaxy. The most advanced computer, Deep Thought says, will be the one that comes next—the second version of Deep Thought. Lets hope it will not be another 7,500,000 years to come to a conclusion and we get to 185 next friday.
Yes, I do love drawing norwegian fjords..
Hi slarti_bartfast. 1.85, now that's what I call optomistic. Did you ask deep thought 1st? You do know who deep though is don't you? how are your Norwegian fyords doing?
Don't let the doomsters get you down is what i always say. This Vodafone stock is going to the moon. Put me down for 60 pence roofer.
Hi Dan, i get what your saying and i think it goes down even worse when the ones ****ging it off are not even invested here
Unfortunately high inflation and interest rises have had a bad effect on company's profit margins and i have to be realistic with you, vod has suffered quite badly but you know that ?, going forward we will just have to hope the sp starts to rise above the £1 again, but as inflation is still not yet under control and the European banks are starting to creak, i expect some more turbulent times for a while, of course it's not only Vodafone that's suffering, let's hope for better times as soon as possible

Hi rob, Great to here from you. Of course the eggs in one basket is my ability of taking the **** out of my self, rather than letting others do it for me, but they slill do, It is a shame that it has turned nasty on here lately, with some latching on to others just to have a go. but it could turn around back to good humoured, constuctive banter. At the end of the day, this is the vodafone share forum, & although as you all well know , I welcome constructive, intelligant negative comments, but this is not the anti vodafone share forum, as some seem to think it is..
Hi, 185 for me every week until we hit 185, just by holding tight PLUS DIVIDENDS ;-)
Encouraged to see private equity still wants to buy any asset VOD wants to sell this week plus reengineering the finance.
€11.6Bn Italy, €7Bn Vantage, €4Bn+ Spain, €5Bn + UK merger, Hungary etc. Turkey and India could bring incremental good news too. E& 15% RNS still to land.
If you are going to be in, this is not a bad place to be with banks teetering on the brink of doom or else just sit in cash with 10% inflation
Dan, what do i think, well you did ask? so firstly i have told you before about putting all your easter eggs in one basket and not sharing them, but do you listen? seriously though i think 130 ish but we may have a long wait, but unless you really need the money hold on there this is at a very very low price at the moment so hopefully the only way is up, we just need something good to happen in the world and at vod HQ
also think a bit of banter is ok, but it has gone a bit nasty here lately, so cheer up you grumpy ones we are all hoping to make some money on the stock market but it hasn't been easy lately, you never hear me insulting anyone, oops i think i just did
Any advance on £1. Come on lets pump this? (Joking of course). I would not want to upset the doomsters on here? What do you reckon rob? (lets keep it to freindy banter though please). Happy Easter. From dan with all his easter eggs in the vodafone basket.
