As a left wing leaning person, I have never voted Tory in my life and never will, Even I wouldn't vote for Corbyn.
??
50p in a week, £1 in three months against the current hysterical political and financial background is VERY encouraging to my mind. GLA £10 coming IMHO
Labour wont get in ..people are daft some times but not stupid
If labour get in with Corbyn et al in post then the UK economy will tank disastrously almost immediately. Massive withdrawal of wealth from the UK overnight. No UK shares will be profitable. If you think Labour will win the next election you should be getting ready to sell all UK assets and buy dollars or euros to hold your wealth. Labour will move to devalue gold as well so even that does not look good for storing wealth.
The Corbyn fear factor has receded a bit this week following his own-goal in reuniting the Tories and Michael Gove sending the English language into battle to call out Corbyn. Some risk still remains however so I remain cautious.
Perhaps the dividend and market turmoil are in our favour. Anyway a nice steady recovery. GLA
Back to a tenner plus soon :') ...renationalised ? Garbage ;-)
Might sell soon
In the present uncertain climate the ill founded criticism by Labour and some press has been like water off a company,s back. We lead far ahead of other companies linked with us in the press. I hope and believe we will return to the £10 area within the next half year. GLA
up 23%. Very positive set of results and I always like to hear the words "significant progress". Back to 800p+ soon.
the policy on re-nationalisation will not involve large buyouts the railways would come in house as the franchise expires the government will set up a rival energy company which is cheaper so they wont buy pre existing companies,
water is a little different as there really is not any choice of suppler they may have to purchase that but i would not bank on it.
Profits up
Big worry especially for the likes of me, a small shareholder investing for dividend income, is the possibility of re-nationalisation. Even if the party who propose it were to form a government within say the next six to twelve months would they be able to re-nationalise all the utility companies, water gas and electricity plus the railways in their first term? Personally I doubt it, Railways first then water but probably late in their first term.
Anyone else expecting bumper revenues after the scorching summer?
Report out today indicates we have passed the scrutiny as usual.Yield looks good. GLA
Have been in since 1999. This year's dividend total 5.6% Top rated company. How does that compare? GL
Hi, Just wandering who here is invested in NG.and UU, and to be confident in saying which would be the better to go overweight on? I currently hold 2165 NG, and was going to buy UU this month for its defensive play... I presume in the short term it looks ok, but goingLONG looks risky?
Presumably the minister got a reassuring reply from the company heads at the meeting otherwise there would have been headlines on him lambasting us and others etc. No political points to be scored it seems. GLA
These would be the MPs who just awarded themselves a large pay rise. Have gold plated pensions which are still paid in full to their widows. The same MPs who just voted themselves an extra week's holiday (with pay). Can claim air fares when only using the train to Europe. etc etc. Who from the Labour party planted this story(perhaps to take attention away from their internal problems). Leakage the lowest percentage of UK companies(most of which owned by foreign firms) UKOG cannot by law buy another uk water company. It is that time of year when journalists struggle for copy. Man bites dog etc. All nonsense.GLA
Water, water everywhere from the deck of a £2million yacht owned by utility boss who wants a hosepipe ban
MPs angry and branded his yacht a 'particularly galling example' of excess

caitlin1 JC prime minister and Abbott home secretary! Even the most stupid of individuals would think twice. Not going to happen and prey tell, what has brexit got to do with our utilities?
2 weeks to divi give or take ;-) 26 and half pence :-)
It appears we are not required to attend the forthcoming MP's scrutiny like most of the others. Bodes well. The gearing also appears under that proposed by the regulator for the next period. GL all.
Four year halt on THAMES dividends means large income loss to their investors. Would think there is a strong chance they will move here. GLA
