then we have our **** sapiens who use the art of language, writing and abstract thoughts.

Well I've said before that I joined LSE after the exploration sector's wild spike in 2020 driven by my academic interest in observing the reason resistant irrational faith of the type of speculator who can lead such herd mentality.
Whilst I don't expect to learn much directly about UFO from this bulletin board it is interesting to see how, in such an uncertain sector, the sorts of narrative about what may be possible will often deviate from what the evidence suggest is likely to be probable.
Anyway, whilst the posts here talking about the potential upside tend to get more recommendations than those mentioning downside risk, it is rare for any post to get above a dozen recommendations with anything getting two dozen being really popular.
I note with curiosity that a recent post of max111's, typical of his usual promotional style which is heavy on personal assumption has so far received five dozen (and counting ) recommendations. Whether there is any significance to this I do not know, but it may be an indication that the excitable narrative driven herd of wild speculators are returning? Might Max actually get the massive re-rate he's been claiming is imminent for the last three years?
Well, apart from medicine, irrigation,
health, roads, cheese and education,
baths and the Circus Maximus,
what have the Romans ever done for us?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qc7HmhrgTuQ
What have the Alien Metals board ever done for us?
You're wrong again Wents , you shouldn't laugh at others misfortune, you should encourage them to do their own in depth research. It's so easy to turn around and load the blame on some other poster.
As I've said on many occasions, if you blame someone else , you're more than likely gonna fk up again.
ATB.
Should we ask the Romans for reparations? Or should we be happy with heated water, drains, etc etc?
Really people ought to move on from this supposed arguement.
Dip666. So, the shirt answer appears to be. Yes, you do!
Might not all reparations claims be equal?
I'll leave it there!
@FG, the majority of my initial post was based on the Mickey Mouse antics at UFO and I've just agreed CJ's post makes more sense with his response. Not interested in extending this conversation, my parents were from India so perhaps I have a different insight and perception to yours but certainly not unconcious - important to remember India itself has plenty of turmoil with minorities living there - it's a universal discussion as such.
I have a practical approach to life where you can't change the past and every country and culture has committed atrocities and more important to move forward in integrated societies. Empires rise and empires fall and the pendulum swings east to west and back over time. Plenty of mixed marriages and children in my family if you're thinking of turning this into some race based convo as Tacet kicked off.
Myself and CJ have understood each other better so let's get back to Mickey Mouse, sorry, UFO lol
Dip666. People with 2% Neanderthal DNA are living in the here and now. Might it just be that you have some sort of unconscious bias against their being compensated for past attrocities?
Like I said FG - can't change history and we can keep going back in time in your example - maybe I could have tagged 'in recent history'.
For obvious reasons, mining needs to have some level of regulation across a host of factors for many reasons from cultural to environmental for good reasons - hitting the right balance is always tough and as you say CJ, perhaps the referendum will restore balance and be more fair to all concerned, your initial post makes more sense now.
Just to be clear. I fully support the indigenous land owners having significant input on land usage.
The preservation of traditional, historic, religeous sites is of utmost importance. Inded the destruction by RIO of a 40000 year old area with wall paintings was appauling.
However with the new and dare I say excessive power. Farmers and domestic house owners were being prohibitted from keeping paultry and other highly restrictive prohibitions.
The new found power went to their heads and not untipical of all humans they over played their hand.
The referendum was very decisive to restore a balance of preservation and progress.
Dip666. How do you know that that land truly belongs to the Aborigines? Might they have exterminated a race of Neanderthals to get it?
2% of the human race possess Neanderthal genes. Might the 98% owe them trillions in reparations, for wiping their ancestors from the face of the earth?
hi cj, your post is showing a lack of respect for those to whom the land truly belongs, can't change history and australia is what it is now. money rules the world and plenty of greed and corruption and power plays amongst some of those who control the land too of course i imagine, human nature is ugly.
as for issues at ufo, not all are related to progress or lack thereof with the projects as permitting issues, funding challenges in general are bau - but the manner of how the company and projects have been run - this won't automatically go away with a mining lease. the roi will likely be less than it could have been when han**** hopefully gets into production.
the company in it's current form is not advisable as a long term investment play imo, they certainly need to consider jv's ceding majority control over other options to develop and operate assets as likely based on the last few years, they would be incapable of leading exploration, development and production.
while i easily tolerate sp volatility in aim juniors and in general even losses in speculative investments as it is a numbers game- i have a very low tolerance to poor management by so called professionals - and we've seen plenty here. upside still worthwhile if we see proper focus and negotiation skills, but you'll need to see milestones start being met to attract real attention again.
re-rates are not universal and guaranteed to be of some specific percentage or to match the presumed intrinsic value inherent in any project - rather they are contingent on many different factors.
It looks like the bottom has been hit imo…got money when they need it. Just need the big boys to publicly show support.
Well, despite a little volatility along the way our share price has been in steady decline for a few years now where it is easy to plot a general trend line.
For better or worse that trend line hits zero towards the end of this year, which kind of hints that something has to give before then to break the trend... Am I suggesting we will be bust and cease to exist by then as some have suggested ... No, although it is not an impossibility. I am however suggesting that the current rate of decline can't continue in to 2025 such that having set 2025 as my first date to review UFO's performance, I expect to be looking at a company that in one way or another is different to what we've experienced for the last few years.
Truth is a lot of people got stopped out during the drop on Friday when they should have been buying. Weak hands & dead wood cut out. Sounds harsh, but necessary for creating a huge uptrend. Only hardcore shareholders left now & no placing churn.
This means SP is only going to go up with Mining Lease coming soon. This will re-rate aggressively now the brakes are off.
Bottom is in.
Lots of people here now kicking themselves they didn't buy back in or top up at the bottom like Dickie with yesterday's +17.39% rise.
Don't be upset. Still early days. This will be back above 0.20p very soon and will keep moving up en route to production.
You are out of order there CJ Morley......it was and still is the Indiginous people's land. Never forget that.
Life support
We are not on lide support yet.
We urgently need DMIRS to give permission. Then all the nay sayers will sudenly tell us thay always had faith etc..
To be fair to the BOD, who have handled things badly., The delay in approval has been soley down to the Aus. Govmt. giving ludicrous power to indiginous land owners. It took a referendum last Oct. to get decisions back with the grown ups.
Hey Wents.. to be fair I was a big supporter of this company for years.. but at some point you have to acknowledge you are just plain wrong.. since 2022 the company have just failed to get anything done.. they have faffed about re-writing investor presentations whilst we have been battling the likes of Chris2 on here.. always trying to see the bright side.. always defending the company from the doubters..
The league doesnt lie as they say.. and UFO are rock bottom in the relegation zone.. with very little prospect of getting out of it..
Its such a shame.. we are not dead yet.. but on life support.. we need a proper CEO and some proper deals and fast or its curtains
MAXimum nonsense.
I think Cyprus would call you negative Norm, you gotta laugh 😃
@Crypto .. I know that AIM is risky and explorers especially so .. but yet i really thought that UFO might just get things off the ground.. but alas UFO goes the same way as most of the others in this market..
The frustration here is that the assets are really good.. the opportunity here to be get it off the ground like Fenix was there.. the Cash would have propelled us into another level all together.. a true AIM shooting star.. the stuff of legends..
the level of competence from the management has been shocking.. its so frustrating sitting on the side lines watching it all go wrong in slow motion.. when really it just needed a go getter to push it over the line..
Such a small project at Hanc0ck.. its unforgivable
Max again the delusional thoughts until we get clearance and get taking out of the ground the silver and iron ore prices are almost worthless.
Iron ore extends gains on positive China data, growing spot liquidity
https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/iron-ore-extends-gains-on-positive-china-data-growing-spot-liquidity
Great post Norm, sums the last 2.5 years up nicely, I don't know your position or you personally but it sounds very similiar to mine. I invested in 2020/21 on the back of the JV and Silver potential at EH and ( Greenland) that was touted around but like everything UFO touches came to nothing!
I've held share, averaged down at times and to be brutally honest have spent more than I should with this lifestyle company. If / when UFO goes bust it will not effect my life or my retirement in the slightest but it makes my blood boil the way UFO have operated in the last 2 years.
It's verging on fraud and almost criminal the way PI's have been misled, I've said it before and I'll say it again, the moment the BOD realised the value of iron ore in the ground they had no intentions of ever mining it. The goal since that point has been to prove up the asset using our money, drive the company into the dust and offload the iron ore.
The BOD aren't in talks with anybody about a JV, we are in such a position of weakness we have nothing to leverage in a negotiation and the big players know it. We can't raise funds to mine and we are running out of money, it's just a question of when we fold. The BOD know this and they will make sure they are well looked after,we will get nothing.
We fundamentally got away from our core business, prove ground and JV it off, I mentioned previously that we had a very binary choice, proceed with EH or Iron ore. We chose the latter and it was the wrong decision, iron ore prices are in decline and silver is rising. We should have drilled EH further and got on with dewatering the mine, we could have JV the asset, starting producing some revenue and then made a decision on hanc##k.
We had the chance to make some money, the BOD have blown it and both assets will be offloaded for peanuts. Its pointless me selling at these levels,I now get a front row seat to watch this company cease to exist in the next 12 months, I do not think we will be here in 2025, thanks UFO.
